Just went for a swim with my z1. Snapped a few under water pic. Everything's Ok until I got back home. Noticed my phone will like soft reboot. It shows the Sony logo, then the flame boot animation, then lock screen, but without asking for the sim card pin. So I open the sim card slot and noticed the white thingy had turned red. But I checked the sim card and is still dry. Then I open the microsd slot and found that the microsd is all wet.
But till now my phone still working Ok. No more soft reboot. Camera still working fine. Internet all still good.

QUOTE(Xirality @ Feb 18 2014, 10:28 PM) You really dare to swim with your Z1 Even if my phone is waterproof I won't bring it I was tempted to take photos underwater, etc. But in the end, I treat it like my iPhone 4: No cups of water near it, keep in trousers front pocket only, not shirt pocket or back pocket, no sitting on it. The phone's waterproof feature serves only as a backup plan to unforeseeable or unavoidable rain.

I also take the water proof feature as a safety feature only ( and maybe as convenience as easy to clean the phone under running tap). But this time cos I bought the additional maxis water damage coverage and that my wife is eager to take some pic of our son in the pool. So I thought what the heck just bring the phone fora swim of a llifetime la... But till now everything still Ok.

QUOTE(nordingh @ Feb 18 2014, 04:02 PM) I like tap to wake up, built in answering machine (as my line i cancel it), shake to reject call and some other. I don't think simple home suitable for high phone, people will buy high end because to use most of the function. That simple home is only useful for oldest badge people that can't seen clearly. Not useful for us yet.

So far I've been swimming with phone (even way pass the recommended limits) as well as having it with me in showers, checking in the rain, etc etc. Touch wood no issue so far. but i bought this because i want to take underwater shots so it should work as per advertised. Btw, maxis as water damage coverage? How you buy that?

Btw, maxis as water damage coverage? How you buy that? Yeah. I did check the flaps b4 going to the pool. But water still sip in. And I also have my hard case on covering the flaps. So, impossible for the flaps to open by accident. But the worse is the microsd slot. My card is practically soaking wet! When I first saw it I tot die lo like this, so much water sip in... But I play around the phone still functioning normal. Only can't read the microsd card cause it's wet. After it died up, I put in the card and it works. Even the under water pic I took also there. What a relieve... The maxis one covers few things like water damage, theft and some other item not covered by normal warranty. It's rm1 perday This post has been edited by ckchan: Feb 19 2014, 03:16 PM
