Hi. Recently I press the power button the screen does not appear until either I wait awhile or depressing it for a long time. Sometimes press camera button will make it appear. I know something happening coz I can hear sounds but the screen just remains blank?

Anyone knows what is going on? Thks!

Latest. Android 4.3. Ver 14.2.A.0.290

Very irritating. When I receive call the screen remains blank and I can't answer. Also can hear notifications but can't access screen. Anyone got same problem?

It is a common problem for earlier firmware. But it's solved since firmware 257. Try and do a factory reset and see if the problem still exist. If yes then it may be hardware problem

I'm suspecting now is the SD card issue. Sometimes I get message to secure the SD card cover, and when I removed it and tested the display no issue.

It seems the phone is trying to connect to SD card or may feel that the cover is a bit loose (it is a bit flimsy the cover for the SD card I feel) hence the display pauses.

A bit harsh to do factory reset now but gonna experiment a bit on this. Definitely an irritating nuisance though.

Well you can always backup all your data and apps before factory reset.

Yup did that. Just in case I need to send it in.

guys i got an issue with my SD card slot. it seems to eject my card at random and becomes really difficult to detect again after that. ):

i got my unit from maxis, should i take it back to them to get it looked at?
*
What d you mean eject? physically or the Android software came out message that SD card is unmounted?

If physically then got big time problem I think,.

But if just the message comes out then it could be the rubber cover is loose as the phone detects it being loose to make sure its waterproof tight though sometimes it says please mount back SD c card as well. I got the same problem as it occurs sometimes so far. It is an irritant.

Just bought a Simplism Z1 casing as I'm tired of removing the RM 10 silicon casing I bought to charge on the dock.

It comes with a Screen Protector but am curious, if its waterproof. Is there any screen protector around that is waterproof as well or at least will not crumple, spoilt, etc when I take pictures while swimming.

I found out that camera on this z1 is not up to expectation. sad.gif. It looks great on phone but not on the computer.

With Sony G lens, 20mp, 2.0 aperture, I was expecting at least on the same level as iphone (tho it should be better as specs speak it all) but it is way off. sad.gif.

can you guys post some pictures taken with this phone? I just wonder if there any tweak, etc.

My first impression on the z1 camera is not so good. I hate it! .. sad.gif.

???? I own an iPhone 5 and a Z1 and I daresay Z1 is much better. Only use iPhone for Panoramic shots now (coz I'm used to that interface). Low light conditions, landscape conditions, underwater, my Z1 so far takes far better shots than the iPhone.

Haha... Previously I don't dare to do so either. I also take the water proof feature as a safety feature only ( and maybe as convenience as easy to clean the phone under running tap). But this time cos I bought the additional maxis water damage coverage and that my wife is eager to take some pic of our son in the pool. So I thought what the heck just bring the phone fora swim of a llifetime la...

But till now everything still Ok.

Need to check the flaps. So far I've been swimming with phone (even way pass the recommended limits) as well as having it with me in showers, checking in the rain, etc etc. Touch wood no issue so far. but i bought this because i want to take underwater shots so it should work as per advertised.

Btw, maxis as water damage coverage? How you buy that?

Yeah. I did check the flaps b4 going to the pool. But water still sip in. And I also have my hard case on covering the flaps. So, impossible for the flaps to open by accident.

But the worse is the microsd slot. My card is practically soaking wet! When I first saw it I tot die lo like this, so much water sip in... But I play around the phone still functioning normal. Only can't read the microsd card cause it's wet. After it died up, I put in the card and it works. Even the under water pic I took also there. What a relieve...

The maxis one covers few things like water damage, theft and some other item not covered by normal warranty. It's rm1 perday

Oh, the RM1 thing per day. I think I saw that. THanks!
