QUOTE(saitong09 @ Jun 17 2016, 07:51 AM) Is the sound significant different for floorstand over bookshelf? Thinking of save the extra 2k++ for a good sub You can determine it by yourself on auditioning side by side between the bookshelf and floorstander of the same series. Personally, I would go with floorstanders if space is not an issue but it is most important that you choose a speaker that you feel sounds accurate and pleasing to you in your listening environment. If the price is not much difference definitely will go for floorstand But the quoted price for Zensor 5 or Zensor 7 triple the price of Zensor 1, so really need auditioning before make the decision.

Totally understand on the budget, so is best to invest in sub because HT cannot be without sub

Next only change the sub Btw, floorstand zensor 5 vs 7, which 1 should go to match my Zensor Vokal? Is the Zensor 7 (7 inch woofer) make a big difference over Zensor 5 (5.25 inch)?

Dali Zensor 5 should be good enough. Try to spend more on the sub but if budget is not a constrain then DZ 7 would be better of course. All LCR must be timbre matched. You can also consider Dynaudio speakers if budget allow.

Btw, since all my speaker can handle below 60Hz, should I set the crossover at 60Hz or 80Hz as recommended by THX?

QUOTE(sonerin @ Jun 17 2016, 10:18 PM) The setting depends on your sub as well. For myself I set it at 120hz cross over setting 120Hz setting on AVR or sub? If AVR, what's the reason? I read article said if your AVR have dedicated setting for each channel, set as low as your speaker can handle. If only 1 setting for all channel, choose the highest usually surround speaker will be the bottle neck. This post has been edited by saitong09: Jun 17 2016, 10:52 PM

Having cross over overlapping certain range of freq is always better to ensure there is no loss of freq.

May I know, any 1 here have an experience comparing bookshelf speaker with Htib tower speaker. My intention is, i want to buy AVR and bookshelf speaker and subwoofer for the starting. I wonder if bookshelf speaker can't match Htib tower speaker. I assume bookshelf is more powerful than Htib tower speaker. The price of 1 pair of bookshelf speaker already can buy a whole new Htib.
I just want to make sure when I buy everything, the system will sound better than than my Htib especially for the fron speaker. Room size is an issue also. I afraid if i buy tower speaker, it will overkill because room size only 10x12x10. My prelim plan is going for bookshelf.
