Oic, I believe your speaker with low power rating and also the subwoofer is passive type without input. Afraid the AVR not suitable for your old speaker.

I believe your speaker 100W@4ohm and your woofer is passive. I'm using Onkyo TX-SR507

100W4ohm can use at receiver?

audyssey can do if the difference is not big to begin with, like mine mixed front-center has eq compensation result less than 3.5db

as i told, can use. dont over loud. need active sub

I think most of the AVR can support from 4ohm to 8 ohm. The only AVR you can choose is Pioneer VSX-324-K entry level with Passive subwoofer output. If you want others AVR, you might need to purchase active subwoofer

What I did before I got more serious was I bought an old Teac AVR for RM50 (really old) and drive my old Creative Inspire 5.1 5100 speakers or my Sony DAV-TZ140 speakers. Those speakers sounded great and completely different on the AVR. Unfortunately can't use those passive subs.

But I did have a cheap China multimedia HIFI Stereo with large woofer built-in. You know those with tiny little useless stereo speaker and an extra large woofer mounted on the side of the main unit the size of a full tower CPU casing. I hooked up the sub output with a mono to stereo RCA cable and got it going.
