really depends on the dealer, ok frankly speaking otr prices will be dif even if you got a car from a direct owner, since otr would include insurance AND roadtax.... Thing is... dealers would charge alot more for these services....
i give you an example, a stria neo cps... they take those in for around 22k or so they will probably advertise it for 25-30? (really depending on the dealer) and after adding all their other costs price wouldgo up by a few k on top of the advertised price, (well to be fair you are paying them to do all the inspections and transferring of the name, which you could do yourself but would take time)

when i went to look at a waja evo (heavily modified) last year, it was advertised at 27k, but after adding all the additional costs and all that, the otr price was 32k

if i were you, i would probably ask about the otr price before going to view the car, then from there you can check out the car thoroughly and see if its worth the given price... personally would tell you to view a few cars first (even at random) to see whats the like, you also get to see what you can get for your money.

You might be wondering if you should go for the Mitsubishi sourced 4g18 engine version or the homegrown Proton CPS engine, well read the article below to have a clear picture.

The Proton S4PH Campro is an inline 4 cylinder 16 valve Double Overhead Camshaft engine. Performance stats are 110hp at 6000rpm and 148Nm of torque at 4000rpm. One look at the stats would give you a slight idea of the torque curve for this engine. With the peak torque coming in at a relatively high RPM, this engine is meant to be a high revver for spirited driving. Gen2 owners have mentioned the torque actually rises, then dips a little at the 3000-4000rpm range before going up again to the maximum 148Nm of torque at 4000rpm.

On the other end of the ring, we have the 4G18. The Mitsubishi 4G18 is an inline 4 cylinder 16 valve Single Overhead Camshaft engine. It makes 102 horsepower at 6000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 2750rpm. Big amounts of torque at low revs is a typical characteristic (not all the time though) of SOHC engines, making it a nice and stressless drive in city driving situations.

Unless Proton retunes the Campro to readjust the torque curve for more torque at lower RPMs, I think the Waja Campro is going to be a sluggish drive as you’d have to rev pretty high all the time to get decent acceleration. Even Gen2 owners are complaining, and the Waja is a 1205kg car, abit heavier than the Gen2’s 1190kg.

pauline sos

In the end it is a matter of personal taste because either the 4g18 or S4PH are well supported engines in Malaysia in which you'll have no problems sourcing for cheap parts or stuff to modify it for more power.

2011 Proton Waja - what I do recommend is try to avoid any boyricer cars with fancy colors, rims, bodykit, etc. Get something as stock as possible so you know the car is untouched by the evil hands of modification devil.gif

OTR price = price after GST + Road Tax + Insurance + JPJ inspection + JPJ name change + etc fees they think they can bullshit u into paying.

hoho gto is the big mean bro, mahal to maintain hehe huge engine with 2 turbos.... when i was looking for a car, there was a gto going for 28k needed some work ofc (not major work or anything, just servicing and turbos needed to be rebuilt) but... wah that one scarry.....

one reason i went with the fto was.... if the engine goes, its easily replaceable with the 4g63t OR the 6a13tt... both would be much fun hehe

Thanks Zenix. Sorry for not being clear..Lets assume boxsters only ie 2000 to 2003 and loan is not an issue.
Cayenne is too big. Am looking for convertibles.
Would you say its easier to find a decent condition boxster/convertible but hard to find a decent Porsche mechanic/workshop ard Klang Valley (Aside from 3S)?

Thanks for the reply zenix, i noticed that the engines here are the mitsubishi and campro and not the cps which supposedly has more hp. I also prefer stock compared to modified since my brother's car always go in and out of the workshop after he changed the engine

btw you seem to be good at this zenix, if you ever started a used car recommendation/review channel i''ll surely subscribed thumbup.gif

No comment on Proton / Perodua coz I never own it before. Can refer to it's discussion thread for more details and feedback.

30K roughly can get older gen Altis but it's over 10 years old.

The preve is an okay car... I do however feel that only the CFE cars are decent.... The others are way underpowered. Only issue with the CFE is with the hoses which tend to leak... I supposed they have a solution for that already?
