Comparable in terms of real life performance. Yes, spec is important but as we all know, not all of them are accurate. It's just numbers which can be written or published just like that unless tests are carried out to measure and verify the authenticity. Otherwise it's just numbers that anyone can create. Having said that the spec is still important but it's real life performance or experience of the people which I am seeking.

Good to know there's a cheaper alternative that may give expensive tints a run for the money.

To verify it good on real life, make sure to check it or verify it by the meter, 3M meter etc which get to see the VLT and IRR%. But how it is good materials is to check if it last long and not degrades too soon. On my car, it still work great as day 1

my windscreen tint was full of scratches now. is it possible to just replace the front windscreen tint only? how much does it cost comparing to whole car?

Yes. Anything from rm200-900 depending on brand and spec. Best to claim all under windscreen insurance

i did not buy windscreen insurance becos my windscreen is very very ex as more than rm4.5k for the front windscreen alone.

but my car front windscreen has rain sensor for the wipers. not sure will be affected or not if the tint is removed.

Yes no issue. Just go to reputable shop. The rain sensor, adas, etc are a standalone parts, technician know how to dismantle it prior to removing the windscreen tint

TotalGard is actually just a wholesaler? I remember visiting their website and noticed they were only selling in rolls. Do they have any authorized installers in other states?

Can GPS navigation (Google Maps and Waze) work with TotalGard? I noticed the highest VLT with Titanium Plus is only 40% which is too dark for the front windscreen so the Infusion Pro needs to be used at the front windscreen, either 63% of 53% VLT.

Have you used V-Kool Elite in your cars before? If yes, you will have real-life experience and can compare both V-Kool and TotalGard. The performance of TotalGard may be good to you, but if you have experience with other tints such as V-Kool, you will then have a benchmark for comparison. If the difference is significant, you can feel the difference without having a measuring device to do the measurements.

my other car was with Wingard Regal which I installed back in 2015 for rm2k+. My bro in law come with V-Kool as well as my dad's old car. Yes, it is similar in performance for heat rejection as V-Kool top spec which is too expansive 10 years ago iinm vs my tint at rm900. Believe the sputter metallic materials in recent tech tint work ok on the heat rejection aspect.

on usage, only Smart Tag won't work which I believe is due to IRR close to 99-100%. But I resolved mine with RFID.

Ok good to know thanks. IF it's comparable to V-kool that is good enough because one cannot ask for more as there is a big price difference between the two. I believe V-kool is RM4k to 5k for mid-spec tint while the TotalGard would cost around RM1k to 1.7k which is less 2 to 3 times cheaper. In other words, one cannot complain too much as the TotalGard is significantly cheaper.

I believe this can be resolved by not covering the whole windscreen with the tint. The part near the rear mirror which is stuck at the top of the front windscreen, that small area can be left without the tint so you can just position the SmartTag device with your hands at that area when going through the SmartTag booth at the toll. The Huper Optik tint on my car also could not work with the electronic boom gate access card at the security guardhouse but when I position the access card at the small area near the rear mirror which does not have the tint, it will work.

the GPS & Waze work, mine is Infusion Pro all windows + sunroof. only differ in the VLT selection. Price/Spec is the reason I choose this brand back then, the next option back then is Haverkamp German brand but it already closed down iinm. Then Iris Pro cz they give degradation warranty but I choose the best price/spec back then

Ok thanks. Not too sure if there is a difference between Infusion Pro and Titanium Plus but from the spec sheet, seems like both are very close together and may have almost similar performance or negligible differences ,and the Infusion Pro may be the best value.
