Here's my personal review on Totalgard Ceramic Plus. I follow jpj spec windscreen vlt 70 | front side 50 | rear side & windscreen 30

Got to know this brand after reading this thread, apparently their previous famous brand are Sahara-X that have the same concept - high IRR & Tser with competitive pricing. Don't know what happen to that brand now as no one talking about it anymore. Hopefully their current totalgard package can be sustainable.

What I like:
Good customer service - explain in details & responsive. They will provide demonstration and answer to your questions in professional manner. Additional point, their staff following SOP & wearing double mask too.
Competitive pricing - I can't find others tint that offer similar spec at this price. If you able to find one, please let me know! I want to explore further.

My complaint (same like yours):
Workmanship! Dust trap, tiny bubbling, cleanliness... u name it
I paid extra for the old tint removal, the installer spoilt my original black film that come with the car.
They apply the tint in the warehouse without proper work area. After installation done, my car became very dirty. All the water stains on the fabric seats, glue mark on car panel, dirty watermark on the window. Clearly they don't have clean water to wash their towel and just wipe like it.

They promise to re-tint the affected area after mco end. But my doubt actually with the 3rd party installer, if their skill still the same then just waste of time to visit them again.

TL;DR: If you're on budget & don't mind the worksmanship & hassle to visit them again - then go ahead.
If budget not an issue & busy in schedule - then better look for reputable top range tint.

Hope Totalgard staff/management able to see this post and make improvement on the issue brought up. I got another car that need tinting and I don't mind giving them another chance if they can promise the issue has been resolve. If everything fail, I'll post up the photo of my car tint that looks terrible.

this is what I tried 2 years ago. Get the local brand made at maybe 1/3 of premium brand tint with the same spec. I choose one with 99-100% IRR, and 65% TSER. I still work great on 2nd year.

Ok good to know thanks. IF it's comparable to V-kool that is good enough because one cannot ask for more as there is a big price difference between the two. I believe V-kool is RM4k to 5k for mid-spec tint while the TotalGard would cost around RM1k to 1.7k which is less 2 to 3 times cheaper. In other words, one cannot complain too much as the TotalGard is significantly cheaper.

Can GPS navigation work with TotalGard? Did you mix Infusion Pro with Titanium Plus?

Well, I am pretty sure the film figures are down over the years.
It's more of cosmetic. I can't stand the cloud effect when the sun shines thru it.
Attached a few photos. Are they bad already?

The white haze can be due to 2 reasons;

1) The adhesive already deteriorate, these will cause white haze from whichever angle.
2) Ceramic Chemicals added...these will create haze at certain angles under the sunlight...

Usually some companies are having high IR Rejection but they were using NIR Dyes..
The downside of using NIR Dyes, is that
1) It has short lifespan (Infrared Rejection reading will drop after time)
2) Only rejecting Infrared at 900-1000nm which is the bandwidth where the device is testing for Infrared Rejection.
3) No apparent heat rejection functionality

But using NIR Dyes is quite popular back then as it doesn't cause haze under sunlight no matter which angles.

So, it's better for customer to test the heat rejection base on heat lamp and using both 1000nm and 1400nm.
Just to ensure it's actual ceramic base material rather than using NIR absorbing dyes.

Also, just for your guys knowledge from manufacturer POV.

Many kinds of Ceramic Chemicals are used on window film manufacturing. Depending on type and the blend of chemicals, the output of the product will be different.
The most common ceramic chemicals used on window films were ATO, ITO and CTO.
Haze can be caused by the concentration of chemicals for example from IRR90 to IRR99% the Ceramic chemicals required is almost doubled rather than additional 10%, which in case will cause certain Haze on the final product. Haze can't be totally eliminated unless non Ceramic Chemicals were used.
In terms of Haze comparison from highest Haze to Lowest were CTO>ATO>ITO, as well on pricing wise from more expensive to cheapest ITO>ATO>CTO
Manufacturers usually have their own blending ratio and cost effective requirements to achieve.

In comparison, sputter films will have lower haze due to some IRR will be contributed by the Sputter base rather than just Ceramic Chemicals only.
However, sputtering is a expensive process and hence the higher price depending on the metal they used on the sputtering process.

In the end, depending on user's budget and requirements users can opt for more expensive Sputter films or more economical Ceramic Films.

Actually RFID install from inside also can. Even some Sputterring Films also cannot detect when install RFID outside due to the sputter metal interfere with the signal
