This is my comment on Hamel Royal after using > 2 weeks on Mazda CX-5

If you have used photochromic lens from the like of Zeiss, Essilor, Hoya, etc on your spectacles, prepare to be disappointed and don't expect the tint to have the same effect.
From the inside, I still need to put on my sunglasses if driving on bright daylight as the photochromic effect isn't so obvious.

For my Royale package, which is Hamel top of the line series, the specs is something like 70% VLT, 99% UV, 97% IR, 60% TSER, etc.
The heat rejection is definitely better than the previous Konica-Minolta tint that came pre-installed on the CX-5
The windscreen definitely clear for night driving, but for bright daylight, not up to my expectation as I expect it to work like a true photochromic glass 

Just installed Huper Optik C70 (Front), and the rest all C40 on my 2018 Perodua Myvi at Breyton Penang. First impression about the heat rejection is really good.

I chose 3M after a comparing few brands in market. Installed mine at kuchai lama branch, very satisfied with the workmanship. Very friendly owner and got quoted good price from the boss also.

Dear all, anyone seen how Puspakom checks the VLT of our windows?
Do they use the VLT meter all the time, or only on those windows that they think will fail - which means can still pass for the front windscreen.

Asking because, if I choose 3M crystalline 70 for the front windscreen, its VLT is 68% (source: 3M website). When applied, the VLT falls further.

The front two windows are easier and cheaper to replace, so I won't mind using Crystalline 40 (VLT 39% vs min 50% JPJ rule).

They use a handheld device Tint Testa. They dont always test., depends on luck. Btw, can share how much your 3m crystalline?

Anyone tried HAMEL tint film before? Their platinum package costs RM 1399 with surcharge of RM 100 for SUVs. TSER quoted as 56% IRR 95%.
