Will it be dangerous spraying WD40 near to the brake pads? Afraid it will penetrate to the brake pads or the dics..
Sorry not a good idea, too much of it may affect brake efficiency.Peugeot 408 Owners/ Fans Thread [V2], Motion & Emotion

Hi, I am new here and to LYN as well. Actually not new because I have been a phantom reader of this thread for several months, just newly registered. Through your posts I think I have developed a love-hate feeling towards the Pug although I haven't booked one. Love it since 407 and mainly because you fellows speak of it with so much respect and some adoration. But hate it for the unexplained minor problems experienced by some owners. Unexplained because dunno why it happened but relieved to know all cases are rectified.
Some years ago I was attracted to 407 - just purely aesthetics but look no further because I was happy with my Vios. Then I heard negative comments from friends (please note none of them own a Pug, not even now) so I flushed Pug out of my mind. This year, I get more serious about changing car, so went round window shopping - naturally Honda and Toyota was in the radar but I explored other makes Ford, Nissan, Mitsubishi. Most times I read reviews first before actual touch and feel - narrowed my search to Mitsubishi ASX the 2WD. Budget was 120k max. But didn't like the interior, so didn't pursue further. Don't know why but was drawn back to Pug like some heartstring pulling. So started reading again, hence following this thread. I am almost there - my choice is 408 NA Blue (mid-age comfort priority) but don't know why still holding back. Perhaps hoping someone here will push me over the cliff and shout "Just Do It" Good grief, really feel like old granny buying sports car This post has been edited by enochtan3668: Jun 10 2014, 08:18 AM |

Perhaps hoping someone here will push me over the cliff and shout "Just Do It" Good grief, really feel like old granny buying sports car I owned the 408 NA for almost 2 years now, no major issue but the battery lasting 1 year or less (quoting for my own experience) is such a nuisance but then again, I have my radio/player on 99.9% of the time with air cond blasting all the time of coz. To save the bat juice, i have resorted to have auto wiper/auto lights off, but not sure if it really help much. so far many things are quite normal including the service cost. change tyres at 40k km, only change one burnt head lights (about 2 weeks back). my only 'almost a complain' is the 4 speeder transmission (i blame it solely for the higher FC and the slower century sprint). i wish i'd have the 6 speeder from 408 Turbo all the time. I can live with the 'shorter' wiper at driver side still. Speaking of which have you tried test drive Renault Fluence? what is your thought? I have and some how still i will take a Pug 408 over Renault Fluence at any given day and strange enough the only part i wish from Fluence is the 6 speed CVT. My wife bought Mitsubishi ASX 2WD just about 2 months ago and ASX is not a bad car per se and has its own merits but I would have wanted a auto cruise button in that car and perhaps better built/assembly work quality (doors are too light and does not close neat sometimes if you are too gentle), though having leather seat but no rear air cond vent! , and that puny boot space. But she has wanted a SUV at a very low entry price, so we end up having ASX in the house, and two 2.0s in the house Driving a Pug gives you a sense or rather a level of satisfaction that you can't get from driving a local nor Japanese nor Korean (which all I have owned before), it is just that nice fuzzy feeling in your chest like you are in love Btw, i am over 40 too This post has been edited by EnergyAnalyst: Jun 10 2014, 08:54 AM |

QUOTE(enochtan3668 @ Jun 10 2014, 08:59 AM) Last month SA at Seremban branch offered 3008 at $132K,clearance price for preface lift. His name is Yong, 016 3474488. I drove the test car. Impressed with the handling, very little body roll. Nice torque from the engine. Love the sporty interior. QUOTE But hate it for the unexplained minor problems experienced by some owners. Unexplained because dunno why it happened but relieved to know all cases are rectified. As you said, all problems have been successfully rectified. I can tell you most of the problems were QC issues. So we do know why, but the most important point is that they have been solved. I would be very concerned if I have to make repeated trips to SC and the issue keeps reappearing! In that respect 408NA or THP has been great to own!You STOP, looked & now I'd say, go get your Lion! This post has been edited by SKYjack: Jun 10 2014, 11:12 AM |
