Well, if you can get a good flow through your case, and balance out the flow, you'd actually be perfectly ok. Did it before and damped the intake with DIY air filters. Got pretty good temps, and that was on air.

And car theories are not always relevant to water cooling here. haha. But hey, what theories you using? Interested to know.

hot stufff. eh, rx360 thick ler sure no problem. haha!
the way car engine block being cooled off is the same theory with our wc here. But cars have bigger advantage as they move around the air flow into bay through reservoir where speed is in their favor.
some people are crazy enough to get car radiator and better pump to cool off their comp system, there are bunch of people do that.
while the damped intake with DIY air filter you mention can be similar to car intake filter(where in car its necessary as if not carbon will build up).
in fan movement theory, front case is intake, while the back act as exhaust, top or back can be intake or output, where what i can say is floor air temp is always lower than top.
currently im running :
asus z87-a
asus gtx770
4670k i5 oced to 4.6ghz synced core with turbo and speedstep enabled ( 35 Celsius on idle / 75 Celsius on full load)
* i dislike the 75 Celsius, so i hit it back down to 1.2v and see what i can do with that volt, ends up 4.3 ghz with (35 Celsius idle / 50+ ~ 60 Celsius on full load)
cosair dominator 4x8 quad channel kit
ekwb supremacy lc nickle + acetal
ekwb blood red coolant
cosair sp120 high performance twin fan for rads
ekwb 240 thick radiators
ekwb res with d5 pump
bitspower high compression fittings which cost me rm50 per piece * 6
cosair fan with 3.0mm /h20 static pressure ( the fan h100i using)
currently there is 3 fan pulling air into case, while 3 pushing out.
It's not perfect yet... but im still modding and tweaking along the way.
Sleeving and changing to z87 sabertooth and buying cosair gt ssd undergoing (wish me luck!) =]
