QUOTE(f5calvin @ Dec 16 2013, 06:48 PM) http://nikonrumors.com/2013/12/16/new-niko...ontent=FaceBook If good, gonna get it yay..cheaper 35mm.. bt it's f/1.8 Bt its for FF anyways! hopefully sharper than 1.4, like what the 85mm 1.8G did. Update on the battery grip: The shop worker say its import/grey set... Quality quite good but I never used a Nikon one so cant confirm if its original or not... Im using the original lens pen hehe , so far so good, remember blow away the dust on the surface first b4 use the lens pen, and remember lens pen is use to remove oil not remove dust ^^ |

Well, if you intend to get a dedicated macro lens one day, then perhaps there's no real need to get plastic ones... Unless if you don't spending ~RM30 just to practice a bit first Most of the time you will stick to F16 anyway haha, so you won't use DOF preview that much also right? Take a look in Garage Sales bro, there are ALOT of sellers selling plastic tubes |

Unless if you don't spending ~RM30 just to practice a bit first still need to plan about my budget, since even if i am going to buy the lens, it will be next year's mid or end. haha i don't shoot at f16, f8 or something gives me enough amount of dof already on a 50mm lens + 1.6x crop sensor. Most of the time you will stick to F16 anyway haha, so you won't use DOF preview that much also right? Take a look in Garage Sales bro, there are ALOT of sellers selling plastic tubes will check there then, since my last visit to gs only returned me results of electronic's ones. |

Guys, any close up filter for my Nikkor 18-55mm VR kitlens? I remembered that PF T.J. mentioned before close up filter more worth than ET...
Anyway, last Sunday i went to the camera shop to ask about the scratched focusing screen. He told me the scratches are very fine, no need to waste money for replacement, and it won't affect the operation and quality of the camera. So i stay there and chat with the boss there. We tested out the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G ED lens, and also try reverse adapter for that lens. The macro effect is amazing (at least for me la End up i stay there for almost an hour and brought Nissin di622 mark ii back home. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Dec 17 2013, 02:26 PM |

Sorry, another question.
For my kitlens, 18-55mm, f1:3.5-5.6. The former spec is focal length, latter is max aperture size, which is variable depends on focal length. Aperture size larger = more light can come in. At FL 18mm, aperture size is 18/3.5 = 5.14 At FL 55mm, aperture size is 55/5.6 = 9.82 Is it means at max zoom, the light enter the lens to the sensor suppose is more than when FL = 18mm?? |

At max zoom ur aperture is 5.6 which is smaller compared to 3.5.. Max aperture size means that it will be the biggest it will be for that zoom.. For your case that means 5.6.. The biggest aperture for a prime lens would be 0.95 from Leica and 1.2 from Nikon |

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Dec 17 2013, 02:42 PM) Sorry, another question. Not sure I understand that but, basically, at the widest focal length (FL) 18mm, your aperture can be at widest 3.5. But when you zoom in to 55mm, the widest aperture only can be achieved at f/5.6.For my kitlens, 18-55mm, f1:3.5-5.6. Which means, that more light can enter to your sensor at FL18 f/3.5 compared to when you're at 55mm at f/5.6. A problem for some people who shoots in lowlight. Hence, that is why manufacturer now producing zoom lenses with fixed aperture at any focal length. |

I thought is focal length/aperture no. = aperture diameter... i thought aperture value = amount of light the lens can let through? focal length doesn't matter at all. look through your viewfinder and you know, a f2.8 lens gives u bright view and a f5.6 lens gives you a dark view. |
