I think crumpler is pretty solid already, from what they offer.. along with style.. haha

thats some cool bag, but as I said is too pro for me.. I just want a bag that can carry my essentials, along with my dslr + 1 lens would be enough for travel.. haha I don't think in the foreseeable future I would own a super zoom lens such as the 70-200.. I'm not as hardcore as you guys.. who knows, maybe in the future I might bring those cannon running around and 'shoot' people or animals.. haha

Now I'm just interested in getting a 35mm prime and a standard zoom to replace my kit lens.. along with a city bag~

you guys are super helpful..  rclxms.gif

Try lowepro passport sling if u plan to bring 1 dslr body with len + 1 more lens

Recently just get 1 , now I just shoot with 60d + 1755mm f2.8 + 580exII flash, my ultra wide and 85mm primes sleep almost 2 month in drybox, might sell it off since didnt really use it

For travel, I will choose travel as light as possible, only u got energy to shot, if bring too much gear to travel, end up u get less photo because u are tired of carry the whole thing , hope this help

Yes, bro, as bold part, super annoying, 2 fiber dusts stick inside the super imposed screen and just on top of the 2 focus points, everytime focus sure will see it. I can wait for next day to buy the blower, but due to my own decision, i dismantle myself and wipe using the micro fiber cloth that come with the camera. I'm too naive to expect those cloth provided should be scratch proof and dustless compare to normal fiber cloth. sad.gif That was last Friday night, 2 days before my wedding.

Yesterday night i just did a final clean up using contact lens cleanser and flush with filtered water, after that blow off the water using rocket blower without wiping. But is too late, i use my handphone camera flash as the light source, direct to the reflex mirror and i observe at the viewfinder, alot of fine scratch in vertical and horizontal direction. Although not really obvious after i put back the lens, but it become an 'imperfection' inside my heart, although it won't affect the photo quality, but i still feel it will. sad.gif

No pain no gain. sad.gif

Youtube have alot of mirror cleaning video, all video also asking to wear glove and use only rocket blower to blow, look like u didnt follow the instruction haha, I did my without any problem, but my dust stil can be see after I clean it, I suspect its from the inside viewfinder, so I just leave it and HAVE to get used it sad.gif

Smudge will cause flaring to be more prone.

I usually wipe with clean/new lens tissue soaked with 100% alcohol.
That also I slowly wipe to avoid wiping off the coating.

I try not to use those used spectacle cloth as there may be some dust/oil there which you could drag across the lens.

I use lens pen only for couple of year, so far so good hehe

No scratches using lens pen? I have one, but I don't trust that brush. What particular kind of lens pen you use?
*
Why will it scratch? Im using the original lens pen hehe , so far so good, remember blow away the dust on the surface first b4 use the lens pen, and remember lens pen is use to remove oil not remove dust ^^

sometime i really wonder if nikon is really using sony sensors, i've seen many sony camera doesn't capture good low light shoots like nikon does hmm.gif

canon lens is cheap because they dont have focus motor inside, but their lens lineup is more like quantity > quality, i heard their 35mm 1.8 prime is really bad at wide open and need to stop down to f2.8 and above laugh.gif

what i like about nikon is the dynamic range and the color, tried to do single image HDR on canon and nikon and i like nikon RAW file more biggrin.gif

and canon having larger user base most likely is because of the advertisement and sponsored event from canon malaysia, you dont really see much nikon sponsored event, even advertisement also not as much as canon
NEX crappy? i thought nex is better than sony alpha entry level and peoples always talking about nex nex nex

but one thing i dont like about sony dslr is the electronic viewfinder, used too much battery, i've seen some sony user posting in their facebook that their camera can only last for one day for normal usage in event
*
Canon doest have 35mm f1.8(u know canon user admirer nikon user to have cheap price 35mm f1.8? How we wish hard canon will build a cheap price of 35mm f1.8) , only 35mm f1.4 L , 35mm f2 and 35mm f2 IS , all this 3 lens is damn sharp even with wide open, and canon lenses all have build in motor , so it can be auto focus in every of canon dslr model even on 1000d unlike nikon entry level which doesnt have a motor in body.

Nikon have their own top grade lenses and canon do have too, it's depend which lenses u going to purchase, both have their pros and cons

For the camera body, if superior focus system is ur main point and high fps, get the 5dmark3, 1dx , 7d pair with the superior 70-200mm f2.8 mark2 and 24-70 f2.8 mark2

If landscape is ur main point, the d800 is just awesome pairing with the nikon nanocoat ultra wide angle to fully utilize the 36mp, dynami range is awesome too on nikon

So its come down to personal preference, get what u need but not what u want biggrin.gif

Nowaday consumer isnt stupid anymore, advertisment not really help unlike old day, there is so much internet SOS CILI, i would say that canon dslr is actually more user friendly , nikon menu is abit complicated haha.

About the nex's series, I personally dont like the nex too besides the nex7, the low end sony nex series is hard to change iso, aperture, ss , need always go thru menu to change it, and finally my fren sold all his lenses, adaptor to fund the fujifilm x-m1 , and he is far more happy and never miss the nex biggrin.gif

Heard that sony is release the new nex5 right? Not sure the layout and button got improve or not, I found that fujifilm x series and Panasonic Lumia gx7 done a good job, u can stil have Dslr feel after u jumpship to either 1, a camera must have dual dail , else u will face problem when come to A , S or M mode.

but why i dont see much peoples using the canon 35mm? many of them include the beginners they just go for 50mm which i think is too tight for crowded event

when i ask them why choose 50 instead of 35 they say 35 is not sharp unlike 50 shakehead.gif
*
I think u mean the canon ef 28mm f1.8 USM izit? This lens is expensive and soft wide open, stop down to f2.8 isnt that good too.

Normally canon user go 50mm f1.8 is because it is the most cheap and sharp lens, there is canon 35mm f2 with noisy focus motor, the bokeh is sux, and the price is arouns rm1k++ while nikon 35mm f1.8 is with silent motor, better bokeh at rm600+ only

So for a beginner or hobbyist, to get canon 35mm u got 3 choice

35mm f1.4 L which is rm4k+
35mm f2 need rm1k+ with stupid noisy focus motor + harsh bokeh , but the optics is as good as L
35mm f2 IS which need nearly rm2k too

So it already can conclude that there is no good value for canon 35mm version, we really wish canon can come out the 35mm f1.8 at around rm600++ too

U also can see why nikon user normally will have 35mm f1.8 with them because nikon 50mm f1.8 new version is expensive , but its more better build with better bokeh. The nikon old 50mm f1.8 is expensive than the canon version as while and the performance is not better or maybe just on pair with the cheapo canon 50mm f1.8

That why I say its depend on which lens u purchase, there is pros and cons for each other, just get which is within ur budget and which lens u need biggrin.gif

Good answer rclxms.gif , it's depend which focal length u like most , in crop i like 50mm most , because it can compress background and focus on ur subject , so when come to FF , 85mmm would be my choice , unlike u really love ur 35mm on CROP body , so 50mm is ur choice

if let me to choose , i will get a 35mm + 85mm for FF body biggrin.gif

Yeah, buying a mirrorless for travel purpose. D800 + 16-35 is heavy... 35mm... 50mm... dang it LOL.

Too bad Nikon screwed up their mirrorless, else it would be a no brainer to get those instead. Sigh.

Fuji body + 14mm + 35mm is the best combo for travel, or 18mm + 35mm,
