QUOTE(liew_jls @ Nov 10 2006, 02:39 PM) yeah, i know a lot ppl have christian name. actaully if you don't hv christian name, then the last 2 name is your 1st name. but if u you have christian name then the last name will be the middle name. so the last name will be the your surname. anyway over here, can also if the christian name and middle name put as your first name. but not if you deal with the bank over here. nowdays they quite strict over these thing. just finish open the bank account. but have to follow their system, which is using the last name(in my passport) as surname. well, wait until i got the letter from embassy and state the which one is my surname then i can change my real surname. haiz... friend, if anyone coming to study over, make sure you hv this letter, otherwise you will ended up like me.... What on earth are you on about? Your surname IS your last name! edit: Did not read carefully enough and got confused because your statement was not very clear. That aside, I did not have that problem with my bank when I opened my UK account. My surname was correctly put filled in as the last name etc. (Am I still confused over your statement?) QUOTE(elb @ Nov 10 2006, 09:57 PM) What on earth are you on about? Your surname IS your last name! huh. malaysia's chinese, surname should be at the front, so it's different. Edit: Sorry. coz i was a bit tired when i post the message. beside that i a bit piss off with the bank. yup. it's clear statement. anyway i didn't fill up the form, it's filled up by the bank officer. there is no chance for me to write/type anything on the form. only that is i put my signature on it. i filled in the form myself. i never use the middle name field. sometimed those 'cashback' cheques will print your name in different order but it doesn't really matter.

H guys...need some help here..... If im going to the UK 3 months for a degree, i've been told that i only can get a 1/2 year visitor pass and not a visa. Thus, im not able to work part time there. So, if i still want to extend my stay to work in the UK after the 3 months, can i apply for a student visa or other kinds of visa. Im not familiar with the process, so anyone can help me? Thx. Sheffield or Sheffield Hallam? Yes, most likely. You'll be spending two years in the UK.

i haven apply, jz considering this as it involves a large sum of money.
er.. the 'help' i mean... usually, those who going there will have the college that have twinning program to assist them whether they r in malaysia and when they reach UK, right? the help i mean was the service provided by college/uni to do the procedure, visa, application and how to settle down or get used at the new enviroment at there
