QUOTE(WillHung @ Sep 17 2007, 04:20 PM) the 1-hand-luggage rule only applies if you're flying out of heathrow. no other airport inthis world has this rubbish rule except them. its apparently a security measure since the london bombing. That is not true.... most airport have such rules now but it depends on how strict the airport is.... Changi airport have this 1 hand luggage rules as well..... KLIA suppose to have this, but they seems to be clamping down on 100ml fluids only at the moment....even BA protested the ruling because there's it only adds to the amount of luggage being processed by the checked-in baggage machine which slows down baggage processing. |

If u have a landline to use, then there is lots of cheap access line 0844 number that u could call... both landlines and mobile call to Malaysia is only 0.5p per minute if ur landline is from BT
O2 used to be able to call 0844/5 number for free on its included minutes, but that is no more the case now... |

university ranking? These rankings always makes me wonder.... they take into account the size of the university, the amount of courses they offer, the new facility built in this one particular year etc..... How reliable are they? They can only be taken in with a grain of salt....
some Uni might have a high ranking this year when one apply.... but because of not having new facilities and things, their ranking dropped over the course of 3 years when one is studying there. Does that means the education they are getting are worst than when they apply? |

QUOTE(Syd G @ May 29 2008, 05:50 PM) lord, be suspicious. and check out this site Well... if he really struggles to find a job in soton, he could always commute to London. Might cost a little on the travelling part but a train to London from soton takes just about an hour into Waterloo station. So its not too bad. For you to come all the way to UK to study, I think the most important thing is to actually get urself into the best uni for your course. Then again, quite often spouse affect such decision http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ it has a lot of tips on how to save money in the UK especially on utilities Added on May 29, 2008, 5:59 pm@youngkies Thx for the info. If salary minus tax can cover rental I think good enough dy. Extra money can invest My location will either be Southampton or London. Soton Uni itself has the course that I want but I'm worried about my future spouse .. if he goes to Soton and cannot find job, habis la Added on May 29, 2008, 8:03 pmo... for saving money... try using those online cashback sites if you regularly buy things online. the best one would be www.quidco.com but they charge an annual fee of £5, if you earn more than that. I think www.topcashback.com (might need to google for this one as I can't remember the proper URL) is free, but the amount they giveback is not that high. There is a cashbackchecker on moneysavingexpert website so u know where to get the most for cashback. I had about £250 cashback last 2 years This post has been edited by Glyyde: May 29 2008, 08:03 PM |
