Ya, to prove that we are able to support her during the year in University.

QUOTE(liew_jls @ Aug 6 2008, 05:51 PM)
did your father write a letter state that all his money will support your sis's tuition fees and living cost? sometime thing that you fill in your application and evidence need to same. make sure your evidence need to put it in black and white.

but i think if you don't have 100k, i think you can use your father's pay slip to show that your father will transfer some money every month to you.
*
Well, after reading the reason why they rejected is because the bank statement is not a certified copy. We did get a certified copy but my father went to make another photocopy which becomes not certified. Ya he will be writing a letter but he will state that it's his mistake to surrender the uncertified true copy of the bank statement. So now we are making an appeal and will submit the true copy of the bank statement.

it's another case, although have similar method and implications.

if u're under a scholarship, the sponsor will provide with a letter that indicates they're gonna sponsor ur entire fees plus monthly allowances. during the application process, the uk-visa company will contact ur sponsor to verify ur status. if it's all green, u should be ok.

if the sponsor only covers partial fees or did not come with monthly allowances, u will still need to provide proof that u can sustain urself there or cover the other half of the fees. perhaps RM100k in the bank should convince them enough.

Which bank do you register for a saving/current account?

Just to make sure, are there any differences between UK's current account and local one?

Why current not saving?

I couldn't believe it, my sister's visa application rejected twice and it's less than a month she will be flying to UK. First time they rejected because the money wasn't there, but the document for the loans and stuff are pretty much ready just waiting for the money to be transfered. Ok fine, now we got the money but this time they said the money is not in her bank account, and it is in my father's bank account. WTF is this man.

A two pence mate.

Applying for a visa requires a lot of preparation and a bit of luck, you can't rush to be honest.

Sometimes the questions in the form doesn't make sense at all. From your case you need to state that your parents are her main sponsor to UK, write a confirmation letter or whatever it calls and sign by them.

Take note that all the documents need to be certified by whoever it concern, photocopy and get a seal from them, even SPM/College results as well, it might sound stupid but you wouldn't like to get rejected thrice in a row.

Hi youngkies, you mentioned current account in your previous reply, so I assume a saving account doesn't issue debit card right?

not with HSBC account. they dont give debit card with saving accounts.

saving account is purely for saving purpose. you dont get statement regularly, cheque book etc, or capability to setup standing order or direct debit.

you dont buy stuff with your card from saving account, you can withdraw money and deposit. therefore current account is more suitable for most transaction/payment.

you need to be careful when you use those website to call back malaysia. sometime they do have hidden charges that you don't know about it until you receive your bills.

there's few option, get a phone card from london chinatown or skype. Currently skype just include malaysia into the list for unlimited call in monthly plan. i think it's £8 per month for 10000min per month. if you don't have mobile phones, it's worth it.

Water bill cost around GBP40-60 for 3 months
Electricity bill depends if the house are using gas then it will be much cheaper.(Heating with gas is far much cheaper than using electricity)
dont forget about council tax as well. Mine cost GBP100 per month(since you are a student you will not need to pay this but will need a letter from your uni). Internet fee should cost around GBP20-30 depends what requirement you wanted.

If can i suggest that you rent a student apartment as it should be far much cheaper. Most of the student apartment are not far from the city center smile.gif

Well if the landlord told you that the water bill is included in the rent then you do not need to worry bout it. If not then you will have to pay for it. I m sure that the same over here in malaysia as well sweat.gif

Student apartment is room which rent to student and all bills are inclusive. You don't need to concern others bills like electricity, water, gas etc... But not all student apartment do provide internet access. Also not all student apartment is cheaper. If you are new student, like studying 1st year.. you are advice live in student hall/student apartment. When you are in 2nd year, you can start rent private room. As there's quite a lot issues you need to consider such as contract, room's condition etc....

Uni accommodation - 96 per week.
Outside - 65 per week inc. bills.

Understand my motivation here? >,<
Plus uni residence halls will be full of 17/18 year old freshies, more interested in party and all those stuff.
Uni has free shuttle bus, so all I have to do is to live near one of the stops and I'm set.
And I don't really mind walking like 30 mins to college. I like to count my blessings smile.gif

I think I'll get short-term accommodation for like 2 months first, and in the meantime browse around for better places.

Things to look for in private properties:

1) Include water, electricity, gas bill
2) Good heater
3) Near shops like tesco, ect.
4) Bonus if have utilities like washing machine, dryer, stove, ect
5) What else?

eh? which uni u studying bro? Uni of Glocuestershire ah?
