Onestopphoneshop offers clearance phones by REDEMPTION, with really good price (7 months, 600 mins, unlimited text @ 2pounds??). What does by redemption mean and how do I get it?
*
basically when you get your monthly bills you will have to send it back to the company to redeem your money back. I have been told that most of the time your bills does not arrive on time so you will probably miss the redemption period as it stated that there is a duration period for you to redeem your money back. If you miss it then that it.

Even though you have send it, they can still said that they did not received anything so a record delivery from royal mail is advised when you do send back the bill for redemption.

Basically redemption mean you can get back your money.Go to the link below for the way to redeem your money back.

wanna ask that .. stay at belfast..
780Pound per month for 4 room 2 bathroom house. was it worth?

and 200Pound per room was it reasonable?

and how much was the electricity , water and internet fee permonth?

cause i scare i unable to handle the high upkeep of living at belfast...

anyone going to uk this coming september? how much was ur air ticket?
and which agency can get cheaper?

please advice.. tq
*
Water bill cost around GBP40-60 for 3 months
Electricity bill depends if the house are using gas then it will be much cheaper.(Heating with gas is far much cheaper than using electricity)
dont forget about council tax as well. Mine cost GBP100 per month(since you are a student you will not need to pay this but will need a letter from your uni). Internet fee should cost around GBP20-30 depends what requirement you wanted.

If can i suggest that you rent a student apartment as it should be far much cheaper. Most of the student apartment are not far from the city center smile.gif

water bill not covered by landlord??

Well if the landlord told you that the water bill is included in the rent then you do not need to worry bout it. If not then you will have to pay for it. I m sure that the same over here in malaysia as well sweat.gif

If a student is about to go to UK for further studies after his/her pre-university course, does he/she needs to take IELTS or TOEFL when he/she is still studying Australian Matriculation, Canadian Pre-U or A-Levels? *I know Form 6 students have to take this, but not sure other pre-u courses*

And which one of them (IELTS OR TOEFL) is more preferable/acceptable by most universities in UK?
*
IELTS is much more preferred in the UK. I m not sure if you need to take the exam or not but most likely all University will ask you to take one as this is to see your level of English. You can ask he/she to ask if the University accept TOEFL result so that he/she would not have to take IELTS exam

Hey all,

I'm a student of Nottingham University, Malaysia Campus....I'm on a mobility course which i took for my year 2 starting this September and I will be studying in The University of Nottingham, UK Campus for only a year. I was wondering what essential stuff that i should bring along??....what bank should I go for to open up an account(which acc is good for students? and current or savings?)....furthermore which telco company i should go for? This is my first time going UK to study...so i'm kind of new to the environment....can any kakak/abang/korkor/jiejie here give vital information for me to prepare?? icon_question.gif .......Plus, is it neccessary that i go for medical check up??when we arrive at the airport, does the security ask for medical reports???...please advice notworthy.gif
*
What essential stuff to bring?
hmm.gif It all depends on what you need. If you need computer then you will need to bring one as electronic stuff is more expensive then in Malaysia. If you need Malaysian food then of coz you will need to bring Malaysian food laugh.gif
If you are planning to bring sambal or stuff like seafood and stuff, remember to double/triple or even more layer so that it can cover the smell as it is very strict now to bring food over to UK.

What telco company should you join? sweat.gif
The main telco company in UK is BT and Virgin Media. Both are very big telco company. (there might be more) BT is like our Telekom while Virgin Media is a newer brand as they have bought over some other media station to form their own telco company. Other telco company needed to be mention is Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile and Orange which are mobile phone provider

What bank should you go for?
Well most of the student will probably choose HSBC.

Do you need medical checkup?
If you are flying to London Heathrow then i would suggest you do one. If you are flying towards Manchester then i dont think you will need one. I have not encounter any problem during my flight to Manchester for the past few years.

Slightly off topic. I'd like to start applying for my Masters now, and start that as soon as my degree ends (degree end, if according to plan, around July/Aug next year).

How easy/hard is it to apply and get scholarship in uk while I'm still in uk?
*
Easy if you have money but if you are trying to apply a scholarship in UK then it will be very hard. It all depends on what scholarship you are going to apply from. You must understand why should the UK university give a scholarship when you are not a UK citizen? sweat.gif You can still try but is going to be hard to get it. It will be much easier if you can get a scholarship from Malaysia that send you to UK to do your Master degree.

I assume you must have good result since you are trying to apply a scholarship. If not i suggest you not to waste your time at all.

ok, seems my post on other place got no response, i would like to post here to find the answer.

first, im tarcian, which will finish my diploma in mechanical & manufacturing next year. and im going to uk after my diploma.

QUESTION:
1)am i eligible?(with cgpa above 3.0)
Everyone is eligible except you have committed a crime or something.

2)what is my qualification when i apply through UCAS, is it diploma in higher education?
There is no need qualification to apply for UCAS but you will need to include all your result and stuff. Then the University that you apply will tell you what is the requirement that you need to qualify. (I might be wrong since it has been a long time i didnt used UCAS.

3)my choice is university of liverpool, university of manchester, unviersity of sheffield, unviersity of leeds, and no idea about the last one. Cardiff or queens belfast? or any other suggestion?

really hope to get answer, please. sad.gif

1.Everyone is eligible except you have committed a crime or something. This might only lower your chance of getting a visa

2.Not sure if this is called qualification but you will at least passed form 5 i think but for you i m sure you are better than that. There is no need qualification to apply for UCAS but you will need to include all your result and stuff. Then the University that you apply will tell you what is the requirement that you need to qualify. (I might be wrong since it has been a long time i didnt used UCAS.

3.It depends on what subject you study.

how much actually that we need to spend our own money there ? assuming we've never work part time and got loan @ sponsorship for studying there and we'll be living there about 4 years.. The living cost there still bothering me as my family can't afford me if the living cost is too high..
*
If you are sponsored i m sure you wouldnt need much. Well it depends how you spend. I thought normally you will get allowance around GBP200-300 per month? It is more than enough if you dont go spending your money like shopping and stuff. If you are a person that doesnt like nightlife and doesnt go for shopping, GBP200 per month should be more than enough to buy food and stuff that you will need.

I m not too sure with living cost. Does you get sponsored with that as well? If yes then what i mention above is really enough. Just to give you a rough estimation that you will need around GBP3000-4000 for accommodation per annual. The living cost over there is definitely cheaper than Malaysia if you dont compare the exchange rate.

Found something interesting on the guardian website about University fees...

http://education.guardian.co.uk/students/i...2281001,00.html

This will tell you the fees that you need to pay for the university that you applied.

I remember the max amount of hours I work in McD while studying in the UK was 20 hrs per week smile.gif
They don't allow more than that sad.gif
*
Yes 20 hours is for student as they do not want ppl to come to UK just to get money from their country.

There is always places you can find to work more than 20hours whistling.gif
