Hi guys, I need help, one of my friend is choosing between Alienware 17 and Razer Blade pro. So what do you all think? is it even fare to compare these two?
*
Obviously we'll say Alienware 17 hands down in an Alienware thread right? laugh.gif

But then, IMO, Alienware 17 > Razer Blade Pro. Specs win hands down. smile.gif

Slim is always nice but I would very much worried about how good the heat will get out from the body.
I am also waiting to have my GTX680M replace with GTX880M.

alienware 17 vs. razer blade pro. let's not go there. they are in different leagues all together. it's really an unfair comparison.

they should have defined a 'gaming notebook' properly :/ (it's becoming one of the worst marketing gimmicks these days)

a gaming laptop must be thick and has plenty of airflow, not thin and weak airflow.

and totally agree with you, they are not defining a gaming laptop properly. Razer should just continue their gaming accessories business, not laptop.

yeah.. :/ cooling is key for high-performance gaming laptops. to have efficient heat dissipation, you need good fans, larger heat sinks, but most if not all, plenty of space to have good airflow and to house a better cooling system.

weird stuff: w8.1 activation seems unstable. when you put the laptop to sleep for some times then wake it up, sometimes it shows that w8.1 is not activated. you can observe that the windows version and build number at the lower right corner of your desktop.

once you're connected to the internet, it's back to the activated status.

again, you can back up the activation tokens with atm after w8.1 activation WITH PHONE (must be activated with phone; it doesn't work with online activation; this is for w8.1 only). the best practice to me is to install a fresh copy of w8.1; install all drivers; activate through phone; back the tokens up.

Edit: if you wanna have bios windows fastboot working, stick to w8. w8.1 fastboot doesnt work well in my case even if i had a13 bios.

To all m15x user,

Today I went to All IT at Digital Mall, I wanted to buy a internal harddisk for my m15x because currently I'm using a SSD 120G which is not enough for me. So I asked the technician to give me a 1TB harddisk which can fit inside my m15x. The technician went opening the back of my m15x cover, after checking he told me that this can only be supported by 1 harddisk. m15x doesn't have 2nd hardisk slot.

So what do you guys think? Are you all currently using 1 or 2 hardisk.

only if you can swap out the DVD bay and replace it with HDD bay, and you can have 2 HDD bays.
