the casing i planning to get one CM 240 for rm100 like dat..

Anything else i can skimp? HDD? GPU?

7790 vs R-240?
*
it will perform adequately enough, spend the extra money on getting better gpu.

the 7790 is the better card.

Alrite.. Hmmm I am worried that i3 cannot last long compared to i5

Basically my fren only play casual games like Dota2 etcetc
Furthermore he's non tech guy so he never upgrade.

Relate to my question that will my old 6950 able to last him for maybe 2 to 3 years

I'm planning to spend 9k for a complete new system including speaker, monitor. Purpose is for gaming, movie, and music listening. Anyone could recommend me some good setup? I'll allocate 1k-1.5k on monitor (No 3D monitor pls) , 1k~1.5k on speaker and 500-800 on sound card. I'm going Intel and Nvidia, not going to consider R9 290. Should I get I5 or I7? I might be going SLI later on, would a 700W PSU be enough to support?

Intel Core I5/I7 4670/k4770k
Motherboard, prefer something with wifi like P8Z77 v pro (Recommend me)
G.Skill 8G x2
Graphic card Any brand 770/780
PSU 700W
HDD - 3TB X2
SSD - Plextor or Crucial? 128G
Casing with 4USB front, Better if there's 2 USB3
Lite On BD-R

Would I have enough budget to go water cooling with this?

can see the difference when compare during synthetic benchmark but gaming wise in some games there's not a lot in it , maybe 2-5 fps difference.

for bf4 , depends on resolution if for example at 1080p, at medium settings , it should run 30-60 fps smile.gif

hello sifus,

I've been reading the old posts and I'm planning to get this soon:
Intel Core i5 4430 / CPU-Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3
Asrock B85M Pro4
Corsair Value Ram 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD
Zotac GTX 760
Cooler Master K380 Casing
FSP Hexa 500W PSU
Lite-On 24x DVDRW

Will this rig work for League of legends (lowest settings) without the GTX760? Im planning to buy the graphics card on january.

Besides that, Intel Core i5 4430 and CPU-Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3. How big of a difference do they make? Is the E3 worth the RM300 extra?

Thank you in advance. tongue.gif

Depends on what resolution you want to play. My i3 530 rig with GT 440 card manage to pull 1080p World of Tanks on 32" bravia with lowest setting. Never played LOL though but I think it'll do fine even with medium settings.

Hi, I would like to ask whether there's anything to change or suggest for my choice smile.gif

Usage: surfing, programming, virtualization, light gaming(cs 1.6)
Budget: RM ~1800
Reused items: hdd, keyboard, mouse, monitor

Planned OS:
1. Windows 8.1
2. Xubuntu 13.10
3. Gentoo

Things that I had in mind that needs suggestion:
1. Mobo(I need vt-d(or amd's amd-v or also known as iommu) support for the hypervisor listed below, but I'm not really sure which works and what not))
2. GPU
3. ATX Casing

Planned peripheral:
1. Cooler(not sure whether this setup is hot or not, should be not but anyway, just something to consider)

Planned to use hypervisor(preferred both - things to be passed - gpu)
1. KVM(or to be more exact, Qemu)
2. VMware

Additional consideration: I am also considering a fx 8320 setup which costs around there also but I'm not particularly sure which build would work better(8 cores vs 4 core + 4 thread)

QUOTE
Intel Xeon E3 1230v3 Build(pricing based on Idealtech)
---------------------------------------------
Proc(1230v3) = 789
Mobo(Asrock H81M-HDS) - 199
RAM = 1600mhz 1 x 8gb Corsair Value RAM = 235
GPU = HD7730 1Gb GDDR5 - 269
Hexa 500Watt Power Supply = 159
ATX Casing(GT Advance White) = 109

Total = 1760

Hi guys, I need suggestion on a rig for a home entertainment usage, light gamer. Without monitor.

Budget : 2.5-3k

Purpose : Home entertainment. Wifi connection needed.

Games & software's that use frequently : Photoshop, Auto-cad.. some online game..

Personal preference : No need OC / Cfx, Intel i7/i5, GPU R9..

Rig will connect to Sony 32 FHD tv, do i need a higher GPU or r9 is just enough?

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

Thank you very much for this, but may I ask why Dell U2913WM? Isn't that super wide? Looks a bit weird to me, where can I get 4770k for RM749? I check all of the reseller selling at about 1k.
