if an acca student never work in an accounting firm or audit firm and straight away work in finance work like accounts exec or etc, is it a good thing if for future? but if she planned to work in finance job in future (as long as not accounting firm)? the knowledge in accounting firm will be useful to her in future?

Job Title : Software Engineer
Years spent in company : 4 months
Company : ICT Solution
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level : Executive
Experience before joining : Fresh graduate
Highest paper qualification/ education background : Degree
Benefits : Bonus, Free parking, Medical insurance, Mileage Claim.
Salary : 3.6k/month excluding bonus.

I got discovered by the company's director and offered me a position during my first meeting with him at Starbucks while I was still pursuing my final semester studies so probably I can say that I'm pretty lucky.
*
Wow u really lucky can get 3.6k right after graduate. I already worked for 2.5 yrs as software engineer, but only earn 3.4k++ *sigh*

i'm in dilemma now.

Already worked as software engineer for 2.5 yrs and promoted as senior, earning 3.4k / month. Not sure whether is underpaid, but that's fine with me. The problem now is that apparently i'm losing focus in my job now.. need to provide support for customer, distraction from junior asking for help, facing eager supervisor that always want his subordinate to get the job done fast (way too fast), project on hand..blah blah blah..

I'm actually enjoy working here, but with all these distractions, it turns out to be a burden to me. Is it normal that we need to deal with all these in workplace? I'm thinking of resign and get a new job, but that will be my last option if there are no other ways to get away from this situation.

To all veteran out there, what should i do?

your situation same like me before.. before this i work at SONY.. i happy there..but after that 1 by 1 job is transfer to me and make my work so hard.
then i decide to jum but with same field. why i do that?

1-think for your own self first.. if you not happy, no point you continue to work becauseit will make you more stress.
2-Your company can replace your position any time.even you play in important roles and resign, you company can replace your position in a month.

so think about your self 1st..

p/s: after promote you get RM 3.4k, you can use your new salary and jum to other company.. mybe can get RM38++

Cloud Computing Tech Arch as in Cloud Infrastructure (i.e. server, storage, network, virtualization).
Cross vendor, multiple products:
Virtualization - HPIVM, VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, OVM, LPAR etc.
Server - HP, Dell, Oracle, IBM etc.
Storage - EMC, NetApp, Hitachi, IBM etc.
Network - Cisco, Juniper, F5, HP etc.

Not so much on software/functional design, although certain level of knowledge is still required =)

I'm not a 'veteran' and I don't think I'm qualified to give you any opinions.

But given how indispensable software engineers are these days, and with almost 3 years of your working experiences, I think you're considered underpaid.

If I were you, I would seek employment elsewhere and I'll probably targeting well-established banks and IT based companies.

Hi everyone,

Would like your opinion on a job offer I have at the moment.

But first, here are the details of my current job.

Job Title : Marketing Executive
Years spent in company : 4 years
Company : Jewellery
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level : Executive
Experience before joining : 2 years
Highest paper qualification : Masters Degree in Marketing
Benefits : Bonus (1.25 mths), mobile phone allowance, mileage & medical
Salary : 4,350

I have a job offer from a regional Cosmetics & Fragrances company who are offering:

Job: Product Manager
Level: Manager
Basic: RM5200
Benefits: Petrol card, phone allowance, medical, performance and contracted bonus

I feel the offer is quite low for a managerial position and the job is basically a one man show with long hours. The pay does not commensurate with the job for sure. The company's final offer is this and there was no negotiation at all.

The only upside to this is the managerial level position I would be getting which enhances my resume and advances my career.

What do you guys think? Should I take the offer?

Job Title : Junior Mechanical Designer
Years spent in company : 5 months
Company : Local SME in automation
Tenure : Permanent (Under probation: 6 months)
Employment Level : Junior
Experience before joining : Fresh
Highest paper qualification : Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2:1)
Benefits : Medical... not much
Salary : 2,500

Am I underpaid? Can I know what is the rate for fresh mechanical engineers?

Is it the right time for me to apply for new jobs?

Correct!! I already jump 4 times.. my salary almost triple from my 1st job..
2009 - Microsoft Consultation Rm 1k ++
2009 - System Engineer RM 26++
2011 - System Analyst RM 36++
2014 - System Engineer + Analyst + Consultation = System Engineer Senior Analyst.RM52++

My next target in 2 year is become Asst. Manager with salary at least RM 7k ++.. need to gain & collect knowledge and experience as many as i can..
Tips to jump : Must in same field (so your experience is not wasted) , New job is batter then current job, benefit.
