I've been applying since 2014 and it still and usually says the status is "In Process". Is there any tips on how you guys apply for a vacancy at Petronas? Do they check the application on their website? cry.gif

I think it depends on the clinic you went for medical. Some will direct to HR as it is not compulsory to disclose the result to you. If the clinic want to review it with you, it is good also as you will know your current health status. And if you failed some of the criteria, this is the second chance.

it has been 5 months since the HR told me i passed the CBI. Almost lose hope. But looking at you getting your offer letter after so long is making me hopeful again. Hahahaha.

Hopefully i can receive good news as well.
*
Never lose hope bro. They surely take their time especially the hiring manager. Mine was a 9-months journey and at last it surely end well for you. But as someone has advised earlier, do not make it focal in your life, go on with your life and it will come at time least expected.

They said they cannot reveal the result yet. Did the interviewer feedback on ur result immediately after interview?

When they contacted you that you passed the cbi, they straight away give you GL to do medical or they give you offer letter first?

i believe that maybe different interviewer will act differently. in my case, i asked the interviewer prior ending the interview on how was i performing during that iv and also what is the aspect that need to be improved in future. My to-be HOD said ambiguously that I am sort of recommended and also giving comment on aspect that i need to improve.

I waited around 3 weeks before following up with HR regarding the results. and HR reveals that i am recommended but still pending approval from the hiring manager. and with that my waiting game for almost 4 months begins.

In my case, I received all in one shot, OL and GL for medical. my piece of advise, choose a place that can immediately test your urine and blood as i learned it the hard way as i have to wait for the clinic to send the blood & urine to 3rd party lab and that takes time. Suggestion, choose hospitals as usually they have their own lab.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. You really helped a lot since the first stage of my interview.

Where should we do the medical check-up? Is there a list of clinics & hospitals or we can go anywhere we want?

Did they called you first before sending the offer letter and GL?
Because for sure they will explain about the salary and benefits etc. before we agree to sign the offer right?

Just helping others as much as I can bro.

They will call you first and said that you are successful and so on. usually they will inform the date that they will send the OL anf GL. and in my case, it is the same day and during the call, they list out all panel clinic nearby and they will ask us to choose which panel we want to go. i choose to go to panel clinic instead of KPJ as it is closer to my house.

in my case, they did not disclose the salary package and benefits during the call and i also didn't ask tongue.gif . hahaha. you can try to ask them when they call later on.

Just wondering, how do Petronas HR value the salary of their candidate? Is it based on the candidate working experience, or they offer the salary based on their policy and ignore the candidate asking salary and experience?

they have their own structure and also they will take into account the experience of the candidate or other factor before setting up the salary. my friends was offered lower than his expected salary and after appeal, they revised the salary to compensate relocation factor for him. so it is a humane interaction. i also got some increment after appealing from the first offer. but the bottom line is, it is iup to hiring manager approve or not.

Good to hear that they open for negotiation for salary package. In your case, How much percentage the salary increment changes before and after appeal?

I'm afraid the salary they will offer me will be lower than my current salary.

The first offer is 16.7%, after appeal 22%.

They will not offer lower than your current basic, however, they will not count if you have any fixed allowances. And in my case, the final amount is not differ much as i got fixed allowance at current job. And the increment if i included the allowances only 7%.🤣

If the position is an upgrade from your current position in term of salary or accountability, just go for it. Hiring people in contract first seems like trending right now as company want to play safe to avoid they hire the wrong person permanently.
