its called soldering skills.
you can see bad soldering if it looks grayish and dull.
also if they solder wrongly they can damage certain components etc.
some also use too much etc.

like chicken and egg only.
its no point buying a 100w all tube amp, and not being allowed to play it at full volume.
well, even with a good practice amp, most will only sound good at higher vols cos thats when the speaker actually opens up.

i would rather a good guitar first, then later on you can bring it to jamming studios etc etc and get to use the studio's amps.

and at least with a good guitar you have the drive to practice tongue.gif

I'm on ur side... i actually don't have any proper big amp... always hijack ppl's one... LOL.

Well..... Now I've FINALLY put the ugly incident behind me..... I swapped the pick-ups and gave it a quick setup and it sounds great now. More punch to the harmonics....... FINALLY.........

Will have to take it for a proper setup one of these days...... probably AFTER my ZW Les Paul is fixed.

But also found out the idiot at Woh Fatt Swapped the Volume/Tone toggles also...... usually to operate the Neck pickup, you go for the controls that is higher, closer to you and the bridge pickup's controls is on the lower level, further away from you....... He swapped it the other way round. Didn't really notice because don't play with other guitars much.............. Dumb ass. Only thing right he did was the Toggle Switch..........

More power to you if you think he sucks.

St.Anger, Load, Reload were jokes but can't deny that Kill Em All, Justice for All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and The Black Album were classics.

And they still rock hard LIVE!!!

Oh yeah....... this is how f'ing Noob I am...... I just read the Manual for the EMG-ZWs..... and just realized that the stupid idiot at Woh Fatt SWAPPED IN THE WRONG PICK-UPS FOR MY LP-100!!!!!!! The EMG-81 has a silver logo and the EMG-85 has a gold logo....... They put the 85 in the bridge and the 81 in the neck!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine..... me not noticing that........Stooooopid Noob..... I'm now officially the laughing stock of the forum.
sigh.......

You mean all this while you have been playing an 85 in the bridge and 81 in the neck while thinking that it were 81 in the bridge and 85 in the neck? L(OL man!!!

ps. RM50 per pickup to change pickup in Guitar Store. Set up is around RM70 to 100.

ANybody going to US?
I want an Ibanez RGT42DXFM which is limited to US... my ex-guitar teacher's US supplier has it, but it's a contract/policy not to ship it outside the US. Arghhh...
I'm dead bored of black, hence the reason why I dont want the RGT42DX BP which is available here.

Haha, I am facing the same dilemma as you, I wanted the fixed bridge version. Actually asked ishibashi about it too and the reply was it's a USA exclusive model.

Oh yeah...... I got my EMG-ZWs..... now shopping for a place to install them. Last place I want to go is Woh Fatt because of downtown and jam and all that..... Anyone knows how much the guitar store charges for pickup changing and setup?
*
Why not give Tham a call??? He has pretty good rep for guitar servicing etc...

Nobody thinks he sucks... he's just sloppy and relies too much on the wah-wah. That's just my opinion anyway, not a fact.

Technically I speaking, I would pick James over Kirk any day, just watch his right hand accuracy. notworthy.gif

seriously.... installing pups is piss easy...
unless you're born without any fingers i dont see why anyone would want to spend RM100+ to have someone to do a 5 min job for you
you dont need to have l33t soldering skills to install pups... its different from installing components into a soldering board
you're not gonna get electricuted, youre not gonna dmg your pups, you might burn yourself once or twice... but hey.... ya could always run back to ure mama smile.gif
guess Kemahiran Hidup is a waste for our "leaders of the future"

yeah....i'm curious why they cost us a high price on soldering the pick up....bcoz of their skill?

Well you could get a cheap soldering gun for about RM20 or less... the solder won't cost much, and plus... you won't misplace the bridge and neck pickups and the volume/tone pots. tongue.gif tongue.gif
