same here bro
i use fast frets to stop the strings from rusting too quickly
so far its been about 2-3 weeks and the strings havent turned black yet
usually it turns black in 3 days =/

and the gunk on the fretboard, i use the nail clipper blade. lightly scraping it off
haha
b4 restringing i use lemon oil to condition the fretboard [thx nick_drake wink.gif]

i really nid to get my own lemon oil... any ideas???
well.... kinda bz this week anyway
@ criptonox89

the shine stays for a week or so. after that u can still see that the fretboard is oily. i use it everytime i change my strings. the oil stays for quite some time. i normally apply it, then leave it for a while.. then qipe of the excess oil.

i cant stand fast fret anymore.
i used to use it a long time ago and still have it with at least 90% unused.
it makes the strings feel completely different.

now that you mention it it does....kind of like slippery and sticky at the same time, if that makes any sense...

But after playing for about 5 minutes its back to normal.

yea considering ernie ball is already slippery enough, the fast fret on it makes the strings feel worse.

Invented by Rene' Martinez and now available in white non-staining formula. GraphitAll® is a simple but powerful gel-like lubricant. It helps in tuning and maintaining of all stringed instruments. It works well with metal to metal contact with tremolo instruments, too! René first experimented with this lubricant with shop customers before he went on the road. It worked great! The real test was to come with his work with Stevie Ray Vaughan; as many times as he used his tremolo, this was the true test for his invention. It helped Stevie's guitar stay in tune many, many times over. It also helped in the prevention of breaking strings prematurely. René was onto something! He has been using GraphitAll® now for over 25 years. In simple terms, IT WORKS! Due to its powerful anti-friction properties, a little bit goes a long way. The bottle will last a long time and more than pays for itself from 1.) not having to take your instrument to a repair shop and 2.) not breaking as many strings. Your guitar will thank you. Help from a tiny bottle, a powerful lubricant, and René's 25 years of experience.

Nope, I agree with you too. I like Ernie Ball Slinkies because they tend to sound brighter and more transparent to my ears but I just can't stand it when it turns black as quick as an hour!

I've read that there're strings that not only sound good but also withstand rust for a long period but they're not available here. sad.gif I used Stainless Steel strings once, it lasted quite long I think, but in the end it still rust. I don't think I liked the sound of them... couldn't really remember now.
