man i got this problem...

i've been trying to nail ETB for a long time now, and i am still stuck at 61 bpm.

the reason? for some weird cause i seem to play bloody lazy on it, make stupid mistakes....miss the string, miss the note, not comfortable playing....etc..e.tc

but when i play at 70+ bpm and 80+ bpm i play a lot better and more comforable, mistakes are there but not stupid ones.........and it feels like i am actaully practicing

this has been bugging me, i dont know to stick to 61 bpm and slowly work my way up or put it at 70 and slowly work me way from there

my fav sounding strings were fender nickel coated.
but they break damn fast, so i dont use them.
they had a real warm sound.
but i've been using ernie balls for a long time anyway, nice compromise.

and turning black and rusting are completely different.
anyway, even if you play for fun you should be changing strings at least once a month

how bout elixirs???
how does those perform???
heard their pretty pricey... 50 per pack?

Not too sure, never tried them before, maybe I should.

everdying, my Ernie Ball strings rust very fast... In order to slow down the process I have to clean it everyday... it doesn't happen when I use D'Addarios.
Anyway I usually change my strings once every month. Sometimes 3 weeks +.

Anyone heard of Wolfmother, a fairly new Aussie band?

Sounds like Sabbath + Purple + Zeppelin. thumbup.gif

Stay at the tempo where you could play it note perfect and slow work your way up, you know it's worth the time. wink.gif

Yeah, they aren't really anything special but I love the way they put those bluesy riffs into good use. And that bassist have a killer bass tone. thumbup.gif Great homage to 70s rock imo, the songs are pretty catchy, I got hooked. biggrin.gif

Once every 6/7 months is too long LOL! Once every other month's still ok, just cut down those cyber/yum cha sessions. tongue.gif Btw, if I change every 6-7 months, I won't get to play any guitar because I would probably break 3 of them by the 3rd month lol.

its a very common prob with most ppl.
ask them to play chromatics at 80bpm most can do it no prob after awhile.
let them do it at 40bpm, and they tend to hit it early.
basically just relax and try to feel the beat, instead of listening real hard and trying to anticipate it.

That probably shows that your playing is sloppy when it's at normal tempo. wink.gif Give it a little more time and practise at 40bpm, eventually you'ill nail it and ready to move on to 42/43bpm. smile.gif

i need some advice on the marshall powerbrake.

Currently i am using an EXEF load box (non adjustable) to suck some power away (the band is complaining about loudness... tongue.gif ´)...however with 200W the box is not doing enough. I would have to have maybe about 4 of those to drain enough power to crank the amp up.

in terms of loudness i think it's not even halved. Would the marshall powerbrake be able to reduce the loudness of an amp by half or more?

hey man, i used to have the same problem at one point of time. I still do suffer from it, but it aint so bad. I think its cos our fingers aint accustomed to the slow tempo, or more likely its because we are just too darn lazy to practice more laugh.gif but then again, i think practice makes perfect as they say. So yeah, just keep trying..your bound to get it one day. Also, try to find the rtyhm of the tune your learning, to get a better feel of the tune.

Heh take it easy man, if you feel you're not progressing try something else and come back to it later. Don't forget that music should be something fun. thumbup.gif
