Just hook up my old 2.1 Bluetooth speaker. I think it is good enough for me now. Temporary not going to look any soundbar as good one still freaking expensive to me.

At least I am not using TV speaker already. tongue.gif

yea…sound bar price so ridiculous here. decent 1 LG SJ9 Atmos soundbar rm3.3k. but for that price i would rather buy yas 107 with klipsch 8inch sub. bass more important than surround for me…haha.

i settled with the cheapo samsung sound bar hw-k350 @ rm333

btw, you connect via bt? if normal bt sbc protocol gonna have 200ms delay.

Yup connected via Bluetooth. So far I don't see delay on my Apple TV 4K and Mi Box. Both work ok and sound sync ok.

First thing I check was to confirm the mouth is follow the voice when they talk and they are very well sync. smile.gif

200ms for talk lip sync is barely noticeable, but for audiophile 200ms delay in watching concert is unbearable…haha

Hi guys,

Need some recommendation for a soundbar.

I just bought a Samsung 55"MU6100 TV, and its speakers simply cannot make it. Thus I'm looking for a soundbar.

Some questions:

1. Would it be easier to pair a Samsung soundbar to this TV, as compared to other brands?

2. Does a soundbar need to be connected to a TV via wire/cable (HDMI, Optical and other types), or can we pair them up wirelessly (BT, Wifi or others). If it is paired by wirelessly, does it affect the sound quality?

3. I'm only using this TV for watching Astro, TV box and youtube. How good a soundbar should I get?

4. Is it realistic for me to put my budget as RM1000 for this?

Thanks all!

1) Yes
2) my unit connected via optical cable as BT not detected. You can test on BT on your latest model sound bar whether is working or not.
3) my unit is 3.1 just good for me. if you are in really playing like home theater then u need higher range like 5.1 or more
4)RM 1000 i think can go for 2.1 to 3.1 range

Empire ESH also selling that sb at that price no need pwp at all.

for price under 1k…that soundbar is worth to get…2 hdmi input some more.

sound wise more or less same like lg soundbar sound.

just a downside is that remote…the soundbar display is not on the soundbar but on the remote. some ppl might like that bulky remote but i dont find it intuitive.

somemore the soundbar driver no grille to cover, beware poke poke on tweeter.

if u willing to spend more… i still recommend Yamaha YAS-107 combo with Klipsch R-8SW. lazada has both.

so that you can turn on yas-107 only when watching astro to enhance dialogue and turn on the klipsch when watching movie to feel the rumbling.

Yas-207 seems to be the more popular soundbar in KLIAV.
Was sold out today when I was there.
For that pricing you can also just get it from Harvey Norman.

this is quite surprising, 207 has crossover issues which are well documented..people buying must not be those who have done any research into this model, hence botak's recommendation get the 107 and subwoofer separately which is what i did

all slim profile soundbar are like that, crossed higher and dialogue might comes out from subwoofer.

but that's not a problem if the subwoofer is placed near to the soundbar. watching movie is fine, just listening music not sound as fuller je…

btw, for typical user who stays in condo who place their soundbar and subwoofer on one side of wall, and they sit on the sofa which placed on another side of wall, there will be a lot of room gain for bass…try to tune it so that won't sound too boomy.

not surprise. out of so many soundbars i have heard, those sony lg samsung etc when you listen at low to mid volume still ok, but when you crank it up the volume the ear piercing treble is unbearable. yahama got this right and better than the rest. some more the slim profile side firing subwoofer looks better and more suitable for contemporary interior design.

Not to mention the price being reasonable for the sound quality it produces.
