But this is only 2.1 right?

I prefer 3.1 cause has a center speaker which produce more dialog...

What about LG SN7Y or Philips TAPB603?

Go any try the x8500 before making the decision. Even though its 2.1, the floor space you are placing it in really makes a big impact if its a small living room and you can find the sweet spot

I downgraded fr a 5.1 system to this, no regrets

Today went to HN Sunway Velocity to try out some soundbars. Due to budget constrain, I tested the Samsung T650 & Q60T, then the LG SN6Y & SN8Y(these 2 are intro by the sales person). I would say the Samsung models that fits my budget, after comparing it with LG ones, really sounds quite lots of difference in term of bass & clarity level.

Didn't get to test out Sony as need to go back home early as tomorrow kids have to start school ady...

Well, this is my 1st soundbar, so totally a newbie so plenty of things need to learn from sifus here. Didn't get to try this X8500 yet at HN Sunway Velocity, but I'm kinda prefer deeper bass type of person. Care to share which 5.1 soundbar you switched over from to this X8500?

As of now, my source of videos & tv programs is from tvbox. The max sound format from the tvbox I think is only Dolby Digital. The reason I wanted Dolby Atmos is because my newly bought TV has this feature. And also maybe in the future might subscribe to other service provider such as Netflix if my family is interested with.

So beside HN, which shop in KV that have more brands/type of soundbar under one roof? So that I can test few models at one shot can save time from running around few shops and usually situation like this might end up messing up my decision making in the end...

If deeper bass then X8500 won't work.

I sold off my sony bdv-n9200w and got the x8500 mainly for Atmos and decluttering my small condo. Also I tend to change sound systems every 5 yrs (I take extended warranty), so I prefer not to spend too much.
Am using this soundbar with Sony X90H.

Nice tv you got there...

I'm using the Sony X80H after my Samsung tv panel suddenly giving me issues...

My living area is sort of like an open space where previously some walls are knocked down so that the area will look wider and spacious...

And of course I like deeper bass as it will feel like in the cinema rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

if you are in a tight budget, this model is quite good tbh. I've used one and I am currently planning to sell mine since I'm not using mine anymore. If interested, can pm me. Or if you want me to help you test something also can.

Hi all.

Can anyone point me to a repair shop for soundbars?

Had a Philips HTB5150KD stuck at 'starting'.

hi guys, i am currently using a NU8000 TV and decided to get a sound bar to improve TV speakers.. With a budget of less than 2k and samsung branded soundbar... Looking at A650 soundbar.. Or is there any other soundbar within the same price range I should be looking at? Mostly using for Astro & TV box.. Prefer dialog + bass type sound bars..

Thanks for your replies in advanced . 🙏🙏

Why don’t you consider Q700 instead. It support Atmos and I think can add in surround as option as well.

Thanks mate for the recommendation.. notworthy.gif I will check out the Q700A.. But my NU8000 TV doesn't support eArc thus I believe won't get the Atmos effect right as both sound bar & TV must have this function in order to fully utilize the Dolby Atmos? hmm.gif

Also does having more speakers / drivers makes the sound bar sounds better or it doesn't have any effect on the sound? Coz i see there are some sound bars having 7 - 9 speakers and cost less than 2k. Also the higher power output = more bass? confused.gif

No need bro, you will get Atmos using native Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV on your NU8000
eARC is only important if you play BlueRay disc and passthrough from TV to soundbar if you wanna get lossless Atmos. Otherwise, ARC can transmit lossly signal.
Technically yes, more drivers will drive the sound better.

Can a good Atmos soundbar outperform or at least comparable with a 5.1 Home Theather system?

What is a good all-in-one soundbar for a budget of RM 2k?

Been looking at the Sony HT-X8500 and Samsung HW-S60A but have still been undecided. Any other glaring options I should consider?
