QUOTE(Night Fury @ Apr 13 2014, 10:42 AM) Ladies and gentlemen, I'm going back to KL next thursday night. My flight is 10pm and I'm boarding the plane at Senai airport. I'm working until 6pm that day. My friend told me that if I were to leave my company (at woodlands) at around 6pm, I might not be able to catch the flight as the custom queue will be very congested. Question : Is my friend right? What time do you think I should leave my company in order to be able to catch the flight at senai airport without being too rush. Better to leave by 4 pm. Next Thursday is eve of Good Friday, massive congestion would definitely happen at both checkpoints.

QUOTE(tailtwist @ Apr 13 2014, 03:21 PM) internal flight...can still check-in an hour before right? With the current MH370 fiasco, I would be cautious. At Ipoh airport 2 weeks ago, for the first time, all the passengers got their bags opened for checking, shoes and belts off to go through the X-ray machine. What used to be a 30 minute process to gate in 72 passengers, took almost 90 minutes. This post has been edited by seantang: Apr 13 2014, 05:47 PM

You go to Senai because you want to save some money right? Plenty of flight going from Changi to KL... Try to avoid cab, it make your saving not worth the trouble. Leave before 4, after 4 or 5 they close one of the lane for bikes (cab driver say one). I leave at 3 from cck mrt I will pass custom at jb before 4, then another 45 mins by bus to airport from ciq. AA has a free bus that leave on time. That is all smooth traffic, no jam or queue at all.

Have, you need to read those sign board around custom. 5kg for each type of meat, beef, chicken, seafood, vege etc. No pork from Malaysia. I just smuggled in 10kg of frozen seafood and few kg of vege through air. No question asked. I have been doing this weekly for years, its hard running a family for aunties... Just bring in reasonable amount, don't fill those 30 plus inches luggage all with meat then you are ok.

I used to drive in out since the last 6 years.

Take out all the organs, get the air out, sealed the plastic bag and freeze the fish without any water, some ice will form though, few layers of plastic wrap, put the whole thing in sealed insulated bags - these bags do most of the job keeping the temp and prevent leakage, 2-3 big plastic bag over, put in card board box, newspapers to fill the void. The box should not feel cold, if its feel cold the ice will melt. My home-SG-SG house take about 5-6 hours, no problem so far still ice cold when unpack. You can try styrofoam box to test your custom, I saw shops at seafood shop in the my airport putting them in styrofoam box, can pass inspection.

Hi all, just want to share my experience on PR application. I was required by a malay lady officer to translate my birth certificate and she got very angry when I mentioned that I thought its not required. My application was on hold until I submit my translated birth certificate as she treat it as incomplete application.

Is it your birth cert issued some where around independent time before Malaysia Day (1963), those issued under 'Tanah Melayu' ? Seriously, there's a few format of Malaysia birth certificate. Latest one is green in colour. Did you update/change yours ? New one got english wording, old one don't have. This post has been edited by PepsiCo: Apr 14 2014, 11:11 PM

You can complain to ICA if that procedure is not required but the officer insist because of some unofficial reason. Your quote of people don't require translation from this thread is not valid. You need to find from the official procedure. Officer is not the king, they can't act based on their own discretion. They can't scold you or raise their voice. They are doing services. I done mine long ago with the yellowish type writer font birth cert. No translation is required. I think it was even a photocopy one. The officer was nice. Ironic that a malay lady refuse to accept your malay birth cert I guess moral of the story is by right, even malaysian birth cert need to translate although by left most likely no need

QUOTE(PepsiCo @ Apr 15 2014, 10:37 AM) and I am suppose to believe you and your words, against the official terms that have been spelt out ? ... You just quote one small part that is summarised from part of the clauses from the acts. If you read properly what I said, there are still many many clauses gazetted that me and you don't even know. Many of the people here did not have their documents translated but still success in the application, some are required or their application put on hold. There is a discrepancy here. Either one of the officers are not following the rules.
