Hi everyone, i read the news that Singapore increased restrictions on foreign workers. I plan to work in Singapore. It seems quite tough nowadays. Kindly advise. Tks

What advice are you expecting? we're not exactly a collection of headhunters / job agents. Yes, it is getting harder, but none of us will know whether it will be 'just slightly harder' or 'damn near impossible.' you want to come then throw CV's around and hope for the best lor.

Do they still send you PR invitation letter before graduation? I heard no more PR guarantee for local grads now.

just want to ask, I am now working in singapore for almost 2 months, I being forced in email with job recruit agent that I had to pay him one month for salary if I didn't complete 3 month working period

so now I got better job offer, can I switch without pay him?
does this agreement legit?

I'm not questioning the choices you've made. I only framed the choices available.

And the point that I wanted to get across is that it's pointless to complain about food prices by basing one's argument on the cost of raw materials alone. That's because selling food in Singapore is as much a service as it is a product. A large consideration becomes how much that service component matters or is of value to you.

Hehe alright, correct also. Remember to eat drink and stay healthy pipu.

Is Singapore EY required lot of audit staff?

Saw it advertisement in Malaysia jobstreet.com, normally big four won't make advertisement in recruitment.

any agreement?

if she gives u notification within the notice period, then it is fair.. she has to compensate u for any agent fees incurred..

if u r still not happy, can ask her to compensate u for relocation... if cannot settle u can contact aloong our daiko member

No.
But I applied after 3 months.
Every sg grad Malaysian I know was given PR regardless of pay/position/company.
It's still pretty much a guarantee.
Same can't be said for other nationalites or non sg grads. Not to mention this may change. But at the moment, it's still relatively easy.

Not every local Malaysian grad wants PR anyway. Some rather postpone it as their company will give them what's supposed to be their cpf contributions into their monthly paychecks.

Like that you sure lose liao. Think she won't compensate for your left over rental also? No where you can find any free party to help you, unless you go mediation yourself, long process then you will be on the losing end because you fighting against a millionaire hehe.

Most likely she got a very good offer for the condo. There are a lot of new landlord renting out their room after seeing the market is good for the recent years, with no experience no etiquette and only know how to earn your money.

Luck no good on your side today.

she said can stay until the month finishes (ie 1 month after my rent finishes up).
with the restriction on ep and pr, wont the market be worse off? maybe she did have a better offer, or put up a new offer somewhere else.
she said the previous tenant was a south korean girl. so maybe not a new landlady. but who knows, most things can be falsified or made up nowadays.
i dont know, but this place is about 20% cheaper than the market price of the same condo.
i sort of see this coming but what pisses me off is just having to spend the time to find a new place. mad.gif

Long long time ago the tradition is they send out the letters before graduation saying please apply sure get one. Think is like they can direct apply PR and work, no need go through EP stage. But now I heard juniors from the same school being rejected recently. Local grads not so prestige any more.

Tenant moves out in 1 day after meeting nightmare landlady

A man has taken to Internet forums to complain about a landlady who had allegedly imposed a variety of unreasonable rules, such as charging him for watching television and not allowing him to leave the bathroom floor wet after a shower.

The tenant, who goes by the username 'Disputed' on an online forum, said that he had rented and moved out of the room at Blk 63B Lengkok Bahru within a day.

'Disputed' said in his posting that he had moved in and paid $700 rent for a room at the Lengkok Bahru flat on October 26.

While he was moving in, a neighbour who saw him told him that previous tenants had moved out of the same flat as they could not get along with the landlady. When he asked the housing agent about what he had heard, he was told that the neighbour did not have a good relationship with the landlady.

After moving in, 'Disputed' said that the landlady started to impose many new rules on him. For example, he was not allowed to use the freezer compartment of the refrigerator and was only allowed to use a small space in the fridge.

He was also told that the bathroom floor had to be dry after he took his shower, and that the kitchen lights and fan in his room should not be switched on.

That was not all. His landlady also told him that no sound should be made when he was opening or closing the metal gate at the front door. She also insisted on increasing the rent when she saw that he had placed a television in his room.

Although he argued that these rules were not mentioned in the tenancy agreement, she told him that she had the right to change the rules as and when she wished as she was the owner of the flat.
