Guys, just a word of caution. My note 3 somehow manage to have water seep through into it (was using one of those bumper case). Most likely it was caused by the wet hands of my friends at the beach - taking photos etc. Only realise this after feedback from the service center. It could be turned on but the screen is not, only sound. The worst part is that the bill came to RM1,679.50. Should have just bought a new one.

Thanks for confirmation. smile.gif Appreciate much. Basically this ROM still is Odexed ROM right? I think not so important as most can customize now with Xposed Framework right.
I already done download, now.. thinking...

CWM will trigger the KNOX right, I don't want that.

Yes of course, that's the down side of rooting.

wow... thanks for the head-up, an expensive lesson for you though. sweat.gif Din the SC tell you the estimated repair cost before they proceed?

I won't use any of my gadgets near the beach - the sand and the salt water are real killers.

So sorry to hear that, this phone is not water resistance or proof, shall be more careful in future.

If taking photo is by your request, then you need to take all the cost, if it is insist by your friend, probably you can claim some from him/her.

Sigh..........

My condolences to your device......

Don't ever use any electronics near water. Even those waterproof ones should be treated as last chance insurance only where water is concerned.

There's even a case of SWEAT seeping through the armband of an active athlete an killing his phone. I shall not name names.

Yes, true. I suspect it was the bumper case that was the main culprit. If it was naked, there will be less chance of water seeping through. Previous note 2 has been handled similarly though with a jelly case. The bumper case may have promoted capillary action for the water as it collects underneath the back cover... therefore if you need to be near water, put the thing in a waterproof pouch.

Oh! that is bad. May I know what bumper you use, probably is good to know.

By the way, I still curious how could this happen, unless your friend hand is really wet, or else I don't think water will go in when take at beach.

i think you can dispute this if you are sure you did not receive a call to proceed with the repairs. that is standard procedure, anything above a certain limit they will have to confirm whether you want to repair.

at times, the waterproof feature is a bliss.. have been using my XZU at pool and also during picnic at river and beach sides without worry.. i also read somewhere that a Sony phone which was dropped in the sea was returned by a diver a week later in a mint condition, although this might be a myth. tongue.gif

Screen: RM7XX

Board: RM8XX

Labour: RMXXX

Thus RM16xx is standard price, considered cheap as board is not one month old yet
