Pls help. If im using my AMEX to charge for Maybank Etiga car insurance renewal through phone with Etiga agent in Saturday, do i still entitle for the 5% cash rebate and 5x treats point.

Because i saw somewhere that insurance or municipal council or education are not entitle. Thanks for reply

5% CashRebate and 2xTP. Remind the CS to swipe on Saturday itself because of the rebate.

May I know what is the reason (other than convenience) you guys want to own this credit card?

Actually I was interested in Maybank2card as there is 5% rebate on paying utilities bills, petrol and can buy flight ticket on the weekend (as I don't own a credit card yet). After I ask the maybank staff, I get to know that there is 8.88% charges on every transaction ( I thought the 8.88% is extra charge if payback late) and I don't feel like applying it already. They charge you 8.88 and rebate 5%, still more expensive right?

Why not 20th November? The statement date should be fixed right?

Either you heard it wrongly or the staff really misled you.
I don't think credit card users are stupid enough to pay 8.88% of extra charges when we can pay with cash? Technically there is no extra charges unless the merchant charges you extra which some will do. I won't bother to buy from them most of the time unless I have no other choice.

The 8.88% is for interest if you don't pay your bill which most of us never bother at all because we pay full on time.

That's why I ask, damn weird if the charge 8.88% on every transaction and still people applying it.
And I did ask the staff isn't 8.88% will only be charged if I payback late/partial..and then she say no..that one is different= ="
Guess I need to go again and ask another staff..

If with outstanding unsettled bill. Read this link: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards
Though it's for Plat but it's the same for Gold as well.

No need to check further, just apply. Most of us here started using when it was just introduced, soon going to be 3 years for me. None of the cards in market will charge you extra fees whenever you swipe. Of course like I said except for the merchants' imposed fees or if you swipe in overseas which incur exchange charges.

I thought that's based on posting date? If I'm not mistaken there was once I swiped my card on my statement date and posting date is the same, ended up charged to that month's statement. If I can recall correctly but it was few years ago, so I could be wrong.

Actually, it Depends on the Bank also...
Some of the Bank X Generate their Statement on Public Holiday or Weekends ie, UOB... blink.gif

Maybankard 2 AMEX transactions can be posted on SAME day (most of the time 99.99%).... thus you need to pay by 20th Nov.
