Mine is also approached by them via phone calls since they found out that my salary is direct crediting to Maybank.
The lady managed to verify all my details accurately and she assured me that she was calling from Maybank. I trusted and asked her to proceed with the necessary. 10 minutes after our call, her superior called to verify my application. Around a week, received my cards. That was in 2011 when they started to introduce M2Cards to the market. This post has been edited by fruitie: Oct 11 2013, 08:17 PM |

Just booked 3D2N hotel in Agoda for my good friend's wedding dinner in Penang. I was too busy with my other trip that I overlooked on this matter.
If not, I could have tried yesterday and who knows I might get additional 5% rebate? Or am I asking too much? Surprised to see I got 7% rebate from my Gold AmEx. This post has been edited by fruitie: Oct 21 2013, 11:23 PM |

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Oct 21 2013, 11:35 PM) Just last two weeks I did just that. Booked my hotel stay on Saturday in the hope of getting the 5%. I then waited and waited for the transaction to be posted to my account, which only happened on Wednesday, for both transaction and posting. OK thanks, that makes me feel slightly better now. |

QUOTE(labtec @ Oct 30 2013, 05:50 PM) cool... online purchase also can get 5% cash rebate on AMEX card during weekend Not necessary. Online purchases only if the transactions are processed on weekends as well. For e.g. Dell Online is one of the merchants that doesn't process during weekends. You will not get 5% rebate.gonna apply for this card one question, what is the difference between gold and platinum card for this? I saw no difference at all Read first post, you clearly haven't read yet. To me, there isn't any significant difference but everyone's opinion differs. QUOTE(fly126 @ Nov 1 2013, 09:51 PM) Why not 20th November? The statement date should be fixed right? QUOTE(hengchuen @ Nov 1 2013, 09:57 PM) May I know what is the reason (other than convenience) you guys want to own this credit card? Either you heard it wrongly or the staff really misled you. Actually I was interested in Maybank2card as there is 5% rebate on paying utilities bills, petrol and can buy flight ticket on the weekend (as I don't own a credit card yet). After I ask the maybank staff, I get to know that there is 8.88% charges on every transaction ( I thought the 8.88% is extra charge if payback late) and I don't feel like applying it already. They charge you 8.88 and rebate 5%, still more expensive right? I don't think credit card users are stupid enough to pay 8.88% of extra charges when we can pay with cash? Technically there is no extra charges unless the merchant charges you extra which some will do. I won't bother to buy from them most of the time unless I have no other choice. The 8.88% is for interest if you don't pay your bill which most of us never bother at all because we pay full on time. |

QUOTE(labtec @ Nov 1 2013, 10:01 PM) If with outstanding unsettled bill. Read this link: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-CardsThough it's for Plat but it's the same for Gold as well. QUOTE(hengchuen @ Nov 1 2013, 10:05 PM) That's why I ask, damn weird if the charge 8.88% on every transaction and still people applying it. No need to check further, just apply. Most of us here started using when it was just introduced, soon going to be 3 years for me. None of the cards in market will charge you extra fees whenever you swipe. Of course like I said except for the merchants' imposed fees or if you swipe in overseas which incur exchange charges. And I did ask the staff isn't 8.88% will only be charged if I payback late/partial..and then she say no..that one is different= =" Guess I need to go again and ask another staff.. QUOTE(fly126 @ Nov 1 2013, 10:15 PM) Yes it's Fix but the Statement already Generate within 24 hour on Sunday, I thought that's based on posting date? If I'm not mistaken there was once I swiped my card on my statement date and posting date is the same, ended up charged to that month's statement. If I can recall correctly but it was few years ago, so I could be wrong.so Sunday Transaction will carry forward to the Next Statement.... |

QUOTE(protectsj @ Nov 3 2013, 03:04 AM) guys, for platinum mb2 card. it say 60000 annual salary. Very rare. Maybank is one of the banks which follows strictly on the annual income. but i believe sometimes they do offer for someone which lower salary then that.. is it true? Anyway, the differences of Gold and Plat are pretty negligible. Most of the additional benefits do not add any value but good to have. |

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Nov 3 2013, 09:05 AM) Another difference is the CL, should be at least 10k CL right for Pla card? It makes sense for the CL because 60k per annum is about 5k per month and CL is 2x or 2.5x of monthly income.Requested to increase CL, unable to go through.. I would say MBb offered CL quite low, Not even x2 of my income.. |

I got RM 50 rebate during my first year because it is by invitation and without me noticing, I was one of those got invited. Nowadays no more. After that I just use my treat points to redeem.
