As mentioned previous thread. IPV6 in Malaysia still in infant stage. Even TM the monopoly of telecommunication in Malaysia still unsuccessful to roll up IPV6 till now.

I have been using IPv6 with UniFi smoothly for years before I switch to TIME, TIME has issues with IPv6 ever since I subscribe to it, they still cannot get it right until now...

I switched router recently. Now I'm not getting IPV6.
I followed the guide from KLSeet for mikrotik router but eventhough the dhcpv6 client says the router bounded, I'm still not seeing the ipv6 advertised through the network.

According to KLSeet, Active AC Name should changed to BSRKLG02 when ipv6 active but mine still on imse01.as_sp-re0

Can anyone help?

Hi, using klseets settings my Active AC Name also did not change.

Make sure you have this setting in PPP Profile > Default > DHCP-PD Pool.
You have to add the previously created pool and click apply.
If you are missing this setting your devices won't receive DNS addresses

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I still don't have ipv6 working.
Just curious, how do you set the ipv6 pool? How do you get the address in the first place?

You will get a dynamic IPV6 address if your connection is bound successfully.

That's the thing, DHCPv6 client status shows as bound but the ipv6 dns did not propagated.

Finally it works with Archer C1200, I need to use SLAAC for getting the IPV6, and SLAAC + Stateless DHCP for LAN.

Yes, thanks bro, finally.

Malaysia is ready for ipv6, only the ISP and/or hardware manuf. problem. Poor support and documentation.

Anyone wants to setup ipv6 have to dig deeper this thread (and other resources). To those who doesn't, don't bother to come here. Tak pasal2 aku kena baca komen2 mengarut korang.

No John. I terminated my Digi Infinite. On UniFI 100 Mbps now.

Sometime, when I restart my modem (usually I restart my other access points too as well as my NAS), I got my Internet Status as Poor Network. After a few secs (minutes?), it will become Connected, that I believe after the IPv6 connected. Even after the status become Connected and the IP from IPv6 is obtained, when I test the IPv6 connection (e.g.: https://test-ipv6.com/, http://ipv6-test.com/ or https://ipv6test.google.com/), it says that I don't have IPv6 connection. After longer time connected to the internet, the sites respond that my IPv6 is okay and detected.

I'm on UK firmware btw (non-beta).

Happy New Year!!

Latest info:

Archer C1200 on UK latest firmware (1.1.3 Build 20180124 rel.52299 (EU)).

Even though the router reported that the IPv6 is connected (it returned an IP for me), the test by http://ipv6-test.com/, https://test-ipv6.com/ and https://ipv6test.google.com/ reported otherwise.

Tried to change back to Malaysia firmware (release date 16-05-2018), it could connect and the 3 sites reported that I am connected to IPv6.

In my first post when I succeeded, I was on the UK latest firmware. The router and the 3 sites reported that I was IPv6 connected. Not sure what happened after that. This could be due to the firmware or maybe some glitch at TM, not sure.

I then end up using the UK firmware because I HATE THE @unifi SUFFIX as my wifi SSID. I even tried to flash using TIME firmware but immediately hate it since it block firmware update (you can unblock by going to certain specific link).

So, any recent status on this? Can you test your connection at the 3 sites? Anyone?

-.-........TM IPV6 over PPPoE prefix expiry issue? Just wait few minutes (5 - 10 minutes) after booting up the router and ipv6 will get "connected". Doesn't matter EU or MY firmware.

If you change wifi setting or PPPoE settings, you gotta wait even longer for IPv6 connectivity to be back.

For me, it takes days for the 3 sites to detect me as IPv6. Hey, you know what, Lowyat.net is IPv6 ready. As you can see today, on the top of my post, there is IPv6 batch (but not in my previous posts)

Please take note on a note from http://test-ipv6.com below:

Attached Image

"If you strongly believe you have IPv6, but we were unable to detect it: it means one of a couple of things. Either your organization is blocking the use of IPv6 to talk to the outside Internet through network policy; or perhaps what you see with IPv6 on your host is not a global address. Any address starting with "::", "fc", "fd", or "fe" are unable to work with the public IPv6 Internet."

In my previous posts, my external ip started with "fe". I believe all the problem is from TM.

Do not simply assume you are on IPv6 from the returned IPv6 address at your router. You have to check with the 3 sites that I've mentioned before.

Currently my Streamyx using Hurricane Electric Tunnel Broker:

Finally got ipv6 working on Unifi 300Mbps + TL-WR1043ND. rclxm9.gif

Router: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v3 (it is actually a v2 flashed with v3 firmware long time ago)

Purposely flashed v3 firmware to get ipv6 support (v2 firmware doesn't have ipv6 even v2 & v3 have identical hardware).
Got ipv6 working with PPPoEv6, shared session with PPPoEv4, other settings untouched. Did several test, and it always took almost 6 mins to get a working ipv6 connection after router reboot. Consistently. And within that 6 mins, both PPPoEv4 & PPPoEv6 keep connecting -> connected -> disconnected.

Ipv6 test confirmed im indeed on native ipv6. Did speed and ping test on ipv6. On speedtest.net, speed is slow, ~3-5Mbps DL, ~1Mbps UL. Ping is fine. On http://ipv6-test.com/speedtest , ipv4 speed is slow and ipv6 speed is normal.

Flashed openwrt after getting frustrated with unstable connection and slow ipv4 speed on stock fw.

After figuring out interface and vlan settings, got ipv6 (dhcpv6-pd) straight away. Hypptv confirmed to be working too.

Refer to fig below. Note that 1043nd has eth0 and eth1. Refer to https://klseet.com/202-openwrt/openwrt-tp-l...10031-rc6-unifi for iptv bridge setup. Just configure PPPoE setting in WAN interface and make sure to automatically obtain ipv6 address in the advanced tab. After establishing pppoe connection, the "WAN_6" interface is dynamically created.

Did speed and ping test. Getting normal speed ~320Mbps on speedtest.net and on http://ipv6-test.com/speedtest , ipv6 speed is actually a tad faster than ipv4. Both ping are normal (ipv6 has lower ping to some of the servers). Connection has been left on for 6 days and not a single connection drop is observed. And lastly, openwrt actually get a working connection faster than the stock firmware (30s from power on to a working ipv4+ipv6 connection, compared to 50s on the stock fw to get a working ipv4 connection, and 6mins more to get a half-working ipv6 connection).

For many complaining that TM's ipv6 implementation is unstable/ has not matured, it might very well be your router fw issue. icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

Hi, so recently I've been doing some searching and I couldn't come to the conclusion of which was better at IPV6, Time or TM. I wanted to know as I was hoping to change my ISP depending on which, and I was planning on moving soon. This could also help me in a project I'm working on. bruce.gif

My last experience on streamyx ipv6 (that was around 2-3 year ago), youtube capped at certain speed (240p), the rest website almost no problem (but some websites..ping a bit slow compare with ipv4).
