When you say stylus, you're actually referring to the Wacom digitizer right? no, the Acer doesn't support that.

The Asus Vivotab Note 8 has a Wacom digitizer, but the Wacom driver to allow it to work in Photoshop hasn't been updated to support it properly yet if that's what you're looking for.

If you're referring to the usual stubby capacitive stylus... well ANY touch screen supports that then.

Thanks.

Yep. Since GPS specifically refers to the American system now.

That said I remember the early days of single constellation systems. Lock-on was slow and accuracy was erratic. Now with GNSS receivers lock-on is nearly instant and accuracy is almost impeccable.

That said we live in an age where I'm actually using Desktop Windows on a tiny, handheld, keyboardless device without it being totally useless, so yeah.

We've come a long way, though I can't wait for what the next wave of touch Atom device will bring - looking at how much better Bay Trail is compared to Clover Trail right before it.

Wait, I *actually* have an Adornit Jot mini somewhere at home. Maybe it's about time I dug it out for testing.

To test sensitivity? Doesn't work well with small curves on the Windows tablets, probably has something to do with the capacitive screen they use.

did anybody realize the Win 8.1 update has made the touch mode way better and friendlier in desktop mode than before?

Before the update, it was hard to tap on Chrome close button. Now piece of cake.

The keyboard sound volume is way down low now though, which is a shame cause I actually like the feedback.

Any way to mod that?

Any current deals on the W4 that's NOT on Lazada? I'm planning on getting another one + crunch cover.

That said, what do you guys do with the gaggle of fargly stickers on the back? Any cons in removing them - except maybe the serial number sticker.

I found out the 3.5mm audio port is generating some static noise from time to time... anyone found this? Maybe they are not using good capacitors or DAC.

Anyway, USB OTG + your own USB headset will fix it. But anyone has tried USB OTG + Charging cable?

I use the audio port (connect to FM broadcaster) at 60% volume or so and there is no noticable static noise. If running at high volume (80%+) then the distortion can be heard from time to time. But it is ok since loud volume with headphone will kill your ears anyway. Sound quality vice, still not up to par compared to iphone or Sony or Samsung. But it is usable as long as no harmonic distortion or noises can be heard.

USB DACs will work for sure, at least the lower powered ones.

I've been trying to find some cable that works but with no success. On the net some people say using a rewired powered hub would work, but I'm not so sure I want to attempt to fry my W4 yet 😁

In my previous post here, the AVF (local brand) USB power adapter that has 2 USB ports total wattage is 20W because both can go out 10V 2.1A. It works on 1 of the port.

Anyway, I found out an interesting thing on Kickstarter site. The +port adapter that works on Lenovo Mixx 8, Toshiba Encore.

Hopefully this works, I'm up for two if it does. Opens a whole new world of productivity - especially with the (cheapo) HDMI VGA cable I just scored.

Talking about cheapo:

Sleeve a fabricated with stuff from Mr.DIY. Funnily of all the B5 size sleeves I found (and I went to quite a few shops) only this particular one fits the W4 with the crunch cover attached. Everything else is either too big or too small.

So, total damage? 1x B5 pocket + 1x Thick Chamois Cloth (for shock absorbtion) = RM6. Not bad at all, considering it even has a pocket to store my Rapoo BT keyboard. I even ended up buying spares lol.

I tried Daiso where I am right now (Kuantan) and they don't really have any that can fit (tightly) the W4 with CC attached. Everything I found either couldn't fit, or was loose enough to allow the W4 to slide around - which isn't really what a sleeve was supposed to do IMHO.

Plus, some of the patterns were... err... questionable. At least for my xy chromosome tastes.

Hence the DIY project. Even better that it has that nifty pocket in front. Durability is highly suspect though - I know it will protect the W4 (especially with the Chamois in place), though I'm not sure it can stand the test of time. Which was why I got spares.

Next up, engineering a velcro flap to allow for in sleeve charging.
