Finland to buy battle tanks from Netherlands

The Defence Forces are planning to make a significant arms purchase from the Netherlands in the beginning of next year, according to a report broadcast by MTV on Tuesday.
 
The report said the authorities reached a deal to buy a hundred used Leopard battle tanks at a cost of about €200m.
 
The Leopard 2A6 tanks are reported to be in good condition.
 
Finnish parliament gave go ahead to the tank purchase deal considering the benefits and cost-effectiveness.
 
Minister of Defence Carl Haglund, however, said the matter was still in progress. According to MTV reports, the deal is likely to be sealed in the next month.

thing is, the us view my/sg situation like jordan+egypt+saudi arabia/israel in the middle east

they're trying to stabilize the region by rearming it's closest ally with the best weaponry possible, while also re-arming other allies in the region. the latter won't have qualitative edge to invade the former but are adequately armed just in case shyt happens. the former are better armed qualitatively but will not have clear quantitative edge to launch strategic-scale open war against its neighbors (which are also US allies).

it's a way for the US to stabilize the region. any imbalance in term of military acquisition will definitely destabilize the whole region.

try going through jordanian military assets. they are at least 1 generation behind the israeli, yet better than anything the syrian or iraninan have at the moment. same goes with egypt. they are the strongest military power in the whole of africa

the only way to bypass this logic is by buying other countries' equipmentd. but then it will make us farther from the us. as much as we hate it we still have to rely on unker sam just in case shyt happens

Anyway I'm still hopefull on some low profile procurement.
with kasturi class slep completed, we can move on to upgrading kedah class.
Additional samudera class as fac look possible as well.
Mayb 6 asw heli can be sloted in as well.

Kedah Class missile upgrade should be ASAP. 
i still thinking 6 Aew Heli is for Gowind SGPV or not, if not We still need get 6 more for SGPV. than in total we need order 12 AEW heli. AW159 or NH9 NFH.
Also is AEW Heli is alternative solution because we can't afford MPA aircraft?
