oh..i saw it on the price tag..i c..its a shop on the third floor or second..i guess it was promotion tat time..for tat price i suggest u go for AEGO M..which is my next target..its just RM200+ more n u get top notch quality
WOW, really? then wat kinda soundcard my ADA885 shoould be using? an entry level or a SubRM200 or RM400 or a platinum pro? wats a diff between all this? thx for reply!

I was also aiming for AegoM, but I heard the bass is insufficient. I haven't try it personally, so I won't know if I'll like it or not.

For soundcard, if you're talking about Creative's X-fi, I think all of the version (platinum, etc. I'm not sure about the x-fi music) are using the same soundcard except that the platinum version has the front I/O panel. smile.gif

2 models? 2 colours have lar.. Usual one is black.. MX5021.. white one is called MX5021-WHT..

lAh0s have the white version while I have the black one.. from comparison, the only obvious difference is 1. the colour, and 2. the sub on the white coloured one doesn't come with a cloth grille while the black version comes with a cloth grille.. sweat.gif

its bass reproduction is different from, for example, Klipsch GMX or Logitech Z-xxx.. it's tighter, more thump and less hum.. laugh.gif

Either colour gets stained easily.. by fingerprints and dust of course.. the sats are covered with a glossy finish.. so it's a fingerprint magnet.. doh.gif

this speaker...bass not strong enuff n i think the sound too sharp..n not clear..but it sure looks beautiful..thus its asking price if i rmbr correctly is around RM500, the bigger but uglier brother which are the 621 n 641 retails at RM600 n RM1l++ respectively..621 n 641 apparently have much better quality..i heard 621 but not 641..

Never heard FX4021 personally, but many said it's much inferior to the MX5021..

Specificication wise, MX5021 pwns FX4021.. laugh.gif

FX4021's sub is in isobaric configuration.. which (according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isobaric_speakers) delivers the same amount of frequency response with a smaller volume of enclosure space.. but many said it's not that effective.. design flaw maybe? whistling.gif

I give MX5021 the edge. FX4021 - if you try to listen to this speaker, you'll notice that it sounds flat, nothing great (same with FX6021). It is the default setting - flat. However, once you hit the loud button in the control pod (loud increases the treble and bass setting), then you will appreciate this speaker better. MX5021 is the reverse, it is a bright speaker, must decrease the treble. That's the reason most people will immediately jump for MX5021 because it places much emphasis on the high notes. If I breakdown them:

Highs - MX5021 is ahead (decreased treble).
Mids - tie, but I feel both of them has certain hollowness in some vocals (both uses polypropelene material).
Lows - tie, both are not punchy, just low frequency sound but not boomy like the VS4121 model. FX4021 claims that it has isobaric subwoofer to make it stronger, but I can't feel it, something could be wrong with their design.

Some models of MX5021 has static hiss, changing the cable helps a lot. Altec speakers are notoriously known for static hiss. There is one more speaker I feel is more balanced and worth looking, the CS21 (disadvantage is that it has no remote control and no treble adjustment). But none of these models can match 621 and 641 models.
