spray directly(but not ridiculous amount... think logic) and clean it up with cotton bud?
don't worry,it won't short out your tv that easily

give it some time for wd-40 to settle and dissolve the crap then wipe it off...
maybe like a minute or two
when you clean it out it should come out dirty
*
Hi, i try with the WD-40 thingy yesterday but it seems not working and there's no "dirt" or any dirty thing on the cotton. I guees it might not be the problem as my TV is less than 4 months old. I even us the WD-40 to clean the mini jack head. still no luck.

When i play any songs or anything, the left speaker sound is just like a little breaking compare to the right speaker which sounds solid and no such "breaking sound"... anymore suggestion sifus? Need to send back for RMA?

hmm... breaking sound...
sounded like EXTREME DISTORTION?

if it's distortion... that means the IC for the amp burned a bit d

not totally distortion though, is like the audio is not clear, quite difficult to explain as my audio knowledge/words is limited here.

It sounds a bit of "plak-plak" when it comes to certain high tune whereas the right speaker sounds just find.

Another thing i notice is both speaker will have this hissing sound.. anyway to elimitate tha?

hmm... in that case I don't really know
you have to ask beggarmaster2000 for some advice

I can probably say the ic for the amp got a little burnt (I mean very little) that cause the pak pak sound but I cannot confirm this tongue.gif

hey guys =) have you tried plugging it into another source? it might be your tv for all you know?

my guess is....
if it comes from pc fair it should be old stock or slightly defective product
my best guess is that 1 or more (plik plak suond)signal path capacitor is dead, hissing sound most likely come from power filter cap, so changing/upgrading it will be a good idea... dry solder might also be present in such situation
if i wouldn't ask for help here if i am no good with a solder and don't know how to pull your set apart... and most importantly we all need pictures of the insides before guess work =)
try your warranty first before attempting to cure it yourself unless you super confident =)

Well, as I mentioned, i tried with MP3 player too also the left speaker sound is not "solid" as right speaker. Anyway, will try to arrange to send for RMA then... but before that need to find a song/some audio that will trigger the plik plak sound again when they asked for that. haha..

good job modding! =)
you have good skills soldering
but... you must replace the caps nearest to the amp chips first to get better results...
and DO NOT use maxcap, (no need give face to your father's clients) they are shit...as good/bad as the stock ones
you must replace the caps in pairs/region at least with same brand and value according to channel
if you do it random, your sound will run like hell... it suppose to sound transparent and 'surround' sound at the end of your mod
0.68uf are hard to find, so you can just leave them stock
do not change value of caps!
caps salvaged from mobos sounds terrible if use anywhere in the circuit other than power filtering, eg. 100uf and the ones BIG circled in your case...
unless they are pana fc,fl,fg do not use caps salvaged from mobos
my advise is to replace all the 2.2uf,1uf and 4.7uf first save the good caps towards the amp chip
try not to use black colored caps, they are color coded as general purpose caps and will sound very bad!

oh, and thanks for sharing =)

np, for your set, the 'good' parts are usually blue/yellow elna found in clarion, blaupunk cassette/cd car headunit..
old sony cassette deck hi-fi also has parts, regular blue nichicons
don't use rubycons.... especially the light blue ones.... they sound super harsh

believe me i tried =)
