i did this mod because i cannot afford the expensive capacitors and opapms
nobody taught me how to
something you seen in many cycafe before?
it's screwing time!
feels like promnight when you void the warranty sticker, haha but mine is 10year old virgin warranty!
watchout for the wires, disconnect the mess. cut the cable ties and scrape the glue away.
what's your flavor? jamicon, samcon, capxon and some gluxon?
you need to dismantle your sound crap before you source for capacitors of the same value. see see what inside, write in down bla bla how many?
i bought a few acs45.1 from garage sales just in case i killed something, 1 died but i lazy to figure it out anyways i bought a few.
if you are noobie at this like me then you might want to practice this with broken stuff if available
if you leave the solder there for too long, you might burn your precious component
WARNING!! altec trace (the pcb underside lineslines thingy for you noobs) is very very easily come off
1# you might want to use a testpen to push the original components legs straight first (while applying solder iron) 2# then suck suck the solder and GENTLY pluck the stuff out
3# if it comes off its ok, just hot wire to destination =)
a friend of mine donated a working philp crt tv so i took it a part (not recommended) and pluck all the rubycons
to shove it in this set. it might look like a random recap job but i ran out of parts before i knew it =(
i guess you can make it up as you go along =) i got most of the major caps replaced anyways =)
a few burnt fingers and a pack later (stillanoob). i tested it on my mp3 player. and HEY! it works on the first go!
i don't bother to clean up hehe cause im lazy and went blasting sounds to songs until my father complained. sounds like crap! of course sounds much more clearer and better than the stock ones but rubycons are for robot ears!
i have a few more acs45.1 to destroy =) sleepy now, i will post my other cheapass mods laterz
a few hours later..... http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1484987
enjoy =)
