i just add a set of mx5021 to my altec lansing family....

Of course MX5021 and FX6021 better than ATP3... The price also big diff...

just saw the skydriver MX5021 modding...I saw the removed dust shield of ur satellite, the shield was glued original,right? and wanna ask u whether got listened to the "original" MX5021 or not? How the sound compared to the so called "cut cost" version of MX5021? because sometimes said it is cut cost product just judging in term of the numbers of electronic component used inside is not fair(The earlier version is 3-way crossover, latter version 2-way)....because i saw the earlier version of MX5021 satellite midrange drivers are flat at center, the redesign of crossover maybe due to changes of that drivers...

I did not remove the satelite dust shield, not sure either it's glued or not.

I dont have the old (original) version, but i read from a review claims that new version isnt THX certified.
still remember VS4121? (cut cost product from AL...)

the diff is not only the caps in satelite, but the outlook of the speaker inside (satelite and even woofer)
who know the quality got effected or not?

hows d mod ?? what happend?? my wiress ... check back some post i did post d pics already :D its see tru light green color and silver wires inside ... this is so sad 2 know that the new mx5021 is a "lousier version" ... any ways 2 improve on it?? i m kinda outgrowing d sound ... not exciting me anymore

Are you sure the new version of MX5021 has no THX certified ?
What can i do to meet the THX certified ?

no THX certified? U means the THX logo is "cheating" is it?

Opsss long time since I posted here...hehe...will update the pics when I'm free guys...anyways, this MX5021 really awesome but only 1 thing that I really2 hate bout this speakers....their subwoofer's rubber feets...the 4 black n round rubber under your woofers....used to happen to my VS4121 n unfortunately it also happened to my new MX5021...after a period of time, the woofer will heat up n this will cause the glue sticking the rubber feets to the bottom of the woofer melt away...resulting a 'moving' or dislocated feets!! I really hate this!!! Apart from that, I really love my MX5021...sounds better than before after changing the crappy wires....
