ddpai mini using battery?
Built-in 250mAh li-ion battery
*
i asked and the answer is early production of ddpai mini is using battery, later batch change to super capacitor already. now all super capacitor.

btw, the promotion price of ddpai mini today last... tomorrow would be rm63 higher per retail unit.

hey guys, looking for a dashcam, no need fancy function as long as can record clearly ok d. budget around RM200. anyone can recommend me? do u all take out ur dashcam when u leave ur car?
*
leave or not leave also quite depends on what area used to park at

if most time indoor car park, security car park or area with average good security index, it should be fine

for those at black spot area or park at back alley then is another story. for this scenario, better install security tinted windows first and do more diy work to conceal the dashcam.

Any recommended cam with a speedometer? Planning to get one within the RM200 range

Mehome MC6 but already near rm250 not include international shipping yet (sensitive electrical stuff category), MD2 is even better. but dont use general shipping channel.

the gps antenna may trigger magnetic scanner at customs inspection then can lead to holding up all the shipping packages within for further inspection, those get through last time with ordinary mail were juz "lucky", if mentioned what kind of product to shipping agent they won't allow ordinary shipping, if no mentioned this to skip higher shipping cost but if unlucky get caught whole packages kena tahan by customs, courier co. may ask u compensating if they paid penalty.

meaning of "lucky" - let say the whole lot only 1 or 2 sensitive stuffs, then other general stuffs may able provide "protection" to escape scanner.
"unlucky" - if multiple undeclared sensitive stuffs within same shipping lot coincidentally (by same shopee or different shoppees), it would be easily triggering alarm, gong!

Hi Coolstore,

Can clarify abit on General Shipping Channel??? I am thinking of getting the Mehome MD2, now you mention like that I abit takut lah. lol.
*
customs inspection scanner got magnetic detection - general stuffs like shirts, plastics of course no problem. but electrical stuffs that contains battery, speaker (those radio player, bluetooth player whatever got speaker one also got magnetic elements inside) would trigger alarm. now some forwarder even disallow usb stuffs via ordinary air shipping.

dashcam that uses capacitor actually safer to go through detection compared to battery one, but juz don know if the gps antenna how. since it small and only buying 1 unit may go through also without trouble, if no others sensitive stuffs (if got other buyers send a lot sensitive items together in same lot without prior notification to shipping forwarder, then gong)...

overseas online dealer especially those provide free shipping one won't care about this, they already stated it is subject to your own country customs law bla bla... if one previously receive it smoothly doesn't guarantee any in future, juz lucky only.

there are 2 customs gateway:

one is export country customs, one is import country customs.

heard the cn customs cases - some if detected juz return stuffs back to forwarder, some got confiscated and ask penalty, malaysia receiver paid penalty then get angry while receiving an incomplete package.

customs here normally would hold up your electrical stuffs if get detained, and ask for invoice for any gst matter before releasing it. some serious case lead to whole shipment lot holding up for further inspection like cases involved imitated international brand and shipping forwarder get heavy fine.

so it best to use 3rd party shipping agent to ship out sensitive stuffs, paying higher shipping charges for safety. juz tell them it is dashcam they would ask u pay for sensitive air channel.

hi guys, can we just leave the car DVR exposed to sunlight on a daily basis? i don't have effective tinting on my car..
*
daily no shield, no tinted film > pick super capacitor dashcam

it not juz question of safety, but also the life span of dashcam.

branded dashcam using high grade battery, it won't explode (as their claim, so far also no heard) but battery would swell after overheating for long time, say maybe 1 or 1 1/2 year later u found the dashcam casing getting swelling like tumor then has to discard it even dashcam main board itself no problem, juz the backup power (battery).

another case were battery dead fast in high temparature condition, dashcam machine still no problem. that time, u need find any after market compatible battery for it, and the necessary dissembling and resemble again, if out of warranty already.

let say your idea is going to change dashcam every year, 1 1/2 year later then should b juz fine, dump it buy a newer technology, advanced dashcam > ambarella A22 by dec 2017/ 2018??? biggrin.gif

one recent dashboard burning case was caused by driver storing an unknown china powerbank inside glove box, it were those chicken battery explode and burn the dashboard, not dashcam (yet, still got many ppl dare store power bank in glove box, so hot ... one more tips, battery with higher capacity leads to higher risk, most dashcam use 1xxmAh or 2xxmAh battery only, one major cn brand gen 2 dashcam put in 5xxmAh battery huh...better don try using in Malaysia

another tips for all dashcam users -

if using higher amp car cigaratte usb charger - total 3.1A output or above whereby using shared technology, means if only plug in 1 gadget it would get max 3.1A or above output, better check with your dashcam maker specification on power supply matter:

most cam spec read: 5V 1A power requirement
but can tolerate 1A to max 2.1A input (also depends on makers, not all can)

so the best way, juz plug to 1A port, not shared port
if shared ports, make sure got more gadgets there to share the power output by the time it power on

if always on 3.1A input it may spoil dashcam in due time

We can get those here I believe? I had read on one website saying Samsung EVO is not recommended... Will try to find back the page later. How long you've been using them?
*
many online blog review site or web review site are actually commission blogger, earn from links to emarketplace if reader place an order there. you can see their 'review products' are so selective and sure available in famous online trading site that got affiliate partner program.

i also got 1 samsung 16gb running fine in Mehome MD2.

juz buy original card from local computer shop, avoid phone shop/kiosk, avoid road side, avoid pasar pagi/malam, avoid online (except those reputable one u trust).

Thanks bro
*
how's your ddpai latest batch? good?

i juz notice latest August Nimitz rearview mounting kit stock for yi cam now started bundled new adapters, one is for ddpai - tube cam body. Too bad if i place it on Mehome MC6 tube cam, it would block the body underneath hand gesture sensor and microphone, but it really easy now to hang a tube cam at rearview mirror with this adapter.

Guys, after doing some research and watch back the previous page, I wanted to get a dash cam, I wan a decent dash cam in all environment with speedometer, here are my choices
Mehome mc6
Viofo a118c

My budget is lower than rm300
*
one hidden feature of mc6 is that it support auto rotate screen if upside down, means if one want to mount it to dashboard with the mounting kit beneath the cam, the cam still able show correct screen angle, won't upside down screen capture.

if got time, i try upload some to explain.

thus i assume mc6 is a good choice for rear cam whether u r driving sedan or hatchback.

Not sure... I just randomly took from google image search.

3M VHB = very high bond, whether acrylic or black one i believe also super strong adhesive power...

better choose other cheaper brand if one purpose is not damaging tint

stationary shop got, or even Mr.DIY

Didn't realise this thread until I bought yi dashcam, oh well  sweat.gif Quality is just meh as I can barely see the car plates recorded, fortunately it only costed me about 200 bucks with 32GB sd card.

How do you people conceal the cable from being seen yeah? Instruction manual tells me to pull the cable to driver pillar then go through the steering panel to reach the car charger. Question is what should I use to fix the cable? Is 3M (or similar) tape recommended, as mentioned above, or should I be using something else (clay etc). Thanks in advance
*
if say, some distance away can't c clear, it is normal for all these cam. wide angle lens.

if say, 3-5meter away still blur, try adjusting camera lens facing angle - face down a bit more, a bit more, adjusting like that.

i noticed this with mehome MC6

previously all trial seems it got production QC - focusing problem, wanna send back redo lens focusing

but then one time i don know somehow make it face down more (means more dashboard area seen), then out of expectation it become so clear focus on the plate number at same distance last time which show blur image.

my recorder can record a current speed. I wonder, should I enable the speed recording? I'm afraid the info may work against me later ...
*
for rear recording, it should.

as cases involve stopping at traffic light already or move-stop-move-stop traffic condition but still get knocked and counter blame it was your fault of e-brake, the speed changes & view can tell the truth.

Done - but they didn't give me any update though... I bought the dashcam is to catch these offenders. Giving me a hard time whenever I use that particular roundabout. sad.gif
*
don't worry, the time is coming

myeg plan to launch such alike service whereby peer road user can submit complaint, juz don know if that bring same "money reward sharing" like what dashcam maker Mehome cooperate with china shenzhen jpj.

but then i wonder if such an practice need revamp of some jpj law that allow jpj issue compound based on individual non-jpj officers (non-enforcement personnel) submitted evidence. else it would be challenged by public again like the AES.

Hi guys, I am using Transcend 220 Dashcam with 3rd party CPL Filter (stick with 2-sided tape)

It seems that the CPL filter does not pair well with my tint, can see some rainbow effect when the sun is bright. I removed the filter and look through my eyes instead of via the camera and is able to see the rainbow effect.

Is this my CPL filter problem or is it common for all CPL filters?
*
make sure your cpl filter plastic frame is good quality one, else heating causing melting plastic hurt the cam, not worth

OK, just receive confirmation from them saying not to use fast shipping service like DHL, fedex and UPS.

As for the replacement, i can choose another item with same value or pay the difference. looks like i can choose something else =).
mini0807 or a119, which is better? both almost same price
Thank you for the info, but i think i better opt for replacement as wont know what will happen when i send my faulty unit back.
*
whats spoil? cannot start up? it may due to battery damage only

they juz swap a new CHEAP after market battery then ship back to u, sure can last over the warranty period smile.gif

why not take time now open up the cam to find out the battery model then proceed to kl jalan pudu electrical street where many shoplots there, sure can find a replacement battery model, the best part u can test it on the spot if the replacement battery solve it. then take the USD15 compensation option.

if not the battery matter, then opt for replacement get a better make.

Which is the best cam for dual cameras ?

Back camera is also important nowadays people just bang you from behind and run away

Even though front will record when he run away but did not have the evidence that he bang you.

there are a lot F1 driver on the road now driving style like juan pablo montoya, so speedy reach your back couple of inchs away then e-brake and change lane, looks like in a hurry going for reincarnation on call queue
