QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 19 2017, 06:09 PM) Which means you can decide if you want to show or not the gps data when exporting? Agree its a double edge sword LOL, if you claim not speeding at least got data to prove it haha. But if speeding then if a gps antenna is external mounted along the usb cable, u can actually wrap it with aluminium foil paper first as it would block signal tranmission, secondly wrap a piece of dark film to make it hidden. by that if firmware got no option to turn off gps, gps still not working.

QUOTE(Pebbie @ Jul 24 2017, 09:34 AM) I saw that cam's review is quite good and seems like highly recommended by members here. But my concern is lack of warranty for such high price item.... You guys know any seller that offer warranty for it? Scared that it die after a week of use and my money gone just like that. for these cam, either it dead on arrival, or able to discover/detect flaw/problem while first using it. if everything fine it won't get spoiled in a week. for battery type cam, reputable brand normally enable its battery works at least 1 year. and normally they don't sell replacement battery (yes, as trick to lure u buy new cam)

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 24 2017, 11:09 AM) Not an issue since you can either choose to use or not to use the GPS function for gps feature cam: some firmware does not have option to turn off GPS then only resort to hardware part - block the antenna signal transmission or using third party aftermarket cable but majority not good quality cable compare to ori bundling cable

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Aug 30 2017, 08:00 PM) This Xiaomi MiDrive M1 dashcam cost rm1026+ [attachmentid=9087603] No lah, official china price also juz around rm860. Yet another xiaomi-link company's product, but sales so so only. Not so outstanding but rocket high price (sell on brand effect?), there are plenty local brands there similar products cheaper and good quality. pay so much and get a bomb like this in car:
some more still rubber band design ....

that one is truely over priced, looking for water fish only
seeing the official store sales also just 2k plus, this amount considered superb low in china online market
exiling yi tecknology is xiaomi mistake. if xiaomi loosing out its core competency and starting big head thinking wanna make a lots including rice cooker, it no surprise one day get eaten by other tech company.

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Sep 22 2017, 09:18 AM) Last time Yi was under Xiaomi branding. Later on, Yi wanted to come out on its own and sell to the overseas market. So they split up with Xiaomi after Xiaomi made them a well-known brand with their action cam and IP home cam... That's why now Xiaomi have Mijia brand with its IP home cam, dashcam, action cam, etc... Taking the dashcam out will be good for those dashcam using a lithium battery, but just scared the mount will get loose long-term... some times i think laptop theft's rechargeable battery magnetic detecting equipment can mistakenly lead them assuming there is laptop in the car but only find out dashcam with that lithium battery ... or maybe dashcam's small capacity battery not able to trigger alarm, or maybe the level detection reading allow them to differentiate if it is smartphone, powerbank, dashcam or laptop inside cabin

QUOTE(Susuwatari @ Oct 11 2017, 06:01 PM) Mine even longer, almost a week, so don't worry, unlikely it will be confiscated. yup, not illegal goods, only get taxed if any. (based on their own estimation of real price, not by invoice paper in box)

difficult to "disable" external gps antenna ~ mehome
no option to turn it off
wrap with aluminium foil on gps antenna only can slow down its connection to satelite but still able to connect
