in malaysia, there is another brand using capacitor, ie Besta. yes u hear it right, it is brand of electronic dictionary, but it also got few models of dash cam, it should be asking oem made for them. cheapest model ordinary price is RM399, but i noticed in some book fair or IT fair they sell it for RM299 only with 2 year warranty + free memory card

there are professional groups in CN to provide credits (fake credit) to online seller

taobao dealer paid to these group to help boost their business

a lucrative online job.

a simple logic thinking, such a multi nation co. like canon would always protect its patent, industrial design etc. it would create it own product look, won't just get same generic plastic casing from CN factory.

hi guys, about the xiaoyi dashcam

i decided not to do pre-order group buy due to:

a) long due time - they close pre-order today last day (23/12), the stock only start to release out in 20/1/2016. 1 month long, too long waiting period for such capital tie up there.
b) jam packed delivery festival season: there are 53646 purchases now, means xiaoyi need to send out 53646++ stocks from 20/1/2016 ... and 2016 chinese new year fall on 8/2, means it is crashing with high volume cny goods delivery seasons, no good for domestis or international courier also. if not manage get out b4 cny break there, need stuck until end of february (their cny holiday break very long).
c) the price gap between pre-order and retail price only 50 yuan=RM33. it is not that worth wait so long time.
d) first batch stock matter - always have some doubt on first batch, e.g the papago china new stock also got cable problem, mounting kit problem that fixed by their 2nd batch of stock. their export stock no problem, but those being sold in china mainland one always kena first but they can easily ask change through local delivery. overseas one eat yourself.
e) 2016 cny u think xiaomi xiaoyi no doing promotion? i dont think so. the ready stock price at 2016 cny may be same or comes with freebies.
f) 2016 may have other competitive product launching ahead also... those dashcam makers won't watching their product sale die due to xiaoyi...


but for anyone wanted buy dashcam now from china (for own use, for own group buy or for selling etc), wanna:
'safe delivery channel' as u as recepient details won't appear at all in the international journey, no custom hassle at all, no sleepless night. can PM me then. for these transaction, i earn from shipping fees only, not from product margin.

for besta, u had better call them up or head to their selling shop as not all models got stock

last fair only see them display 2 model for selling - one is lowest grade amiux (this actually is china made dashcam, superb cheap). then got another besta model.

i foresee this problem thus last month stop doing group pre-order for it, else now kena cucuk kau-kau, wait for over 2 months

china cny break start from 1/2 to around 20/2, as early as 1/2 their inland courier service stop already.

maybe xiao yi SEA export version got further heat protection mechanism than CN version one...

yi dashcam (china inland models) now only got chinese interface? no other language selection?

i c, it either:

a) xiaomi co.'s intention not to allow 'outsiders' get bulk china inland first hand stock now and sell it quick at 'international price'

b) the firmware is not perfect yet (as i read some cn buyer feedback after they update firmware the yi cam dead, not operating...) using inland market as white rat testing. when things getting perfect only make it to international market to earn brand reputation.

c) got different inland and export hardware model & firmware code. may not allow flashing different firmware based on hardware code.

hopefully yi cam will come out with using capacitor variant

looks like u are a big fan of dashcam

by the fact of getting hotter weather temperature year to year (global warming), really believe it is safer to use capacitor instead of rechargeable battery, particularly for cars park under the sun everyday, and also in kedah, perlis which are hotter than other places in malaysia.

i have seen car with cheap china dash cam park like that, wonder which day the battery explode and lead to dashboard fire burning. Not long ago already got a case ppl keep his cheap powerbank inside dashboard, it blow out and fire, luckily put out asap, else whole car burn out. Expert said high end model would built in good protective battery that won't explode like that, but who knows, always got exceptional case, not all battery came from same factory got same quality, some good some got minor defective

saw an itnews website article published in march 2016, comparing 360 (j501), yi, jedo bl950

daytime reviews showing yi is at last place

price/performance ratio 360 win

actually today one can buy at no over RM210 include shipping through 11st with 2 coupon stack together (29/3 only)

recently local xiaomi products dealers (i guess mostly individual private seller) are keen in fighting price, lower & goes lower

the lowest price one come without any warranty, add RM10 then got 7 days warranty

others also quite similar 7 days warranty alike

only some registered biz entity selling xiaomi got longer warranty like 3 months - 1 year but of course need to add extra $$

do u have 360.cn cam now along with yi cam? can do a comparison test?

as seeing cn feedback that yi win on brand effect, but 360.cn actually a better make although no brand awareness internationally

basically ~RM20x is the cost of importing already

11st pay the profits margin to seller

buyer get cost price

buyer, seller win, 11st lose

and i think soon enough can see fake yi dash cam appear in cn market then pop into malaysia market with lower than rm200 price tag

i got nimitz stuffs as well, it supply the accessories in the pictures to u

but for the clamp holder type, it got standard (17-32mm) and slimmer (12-42cm), i suggest u take the later one, 2 fasterner + suit smaller pillar can hold more firmly than standard clamp which use multi rubber liner to redue gap, not good.

picture illustration: the upper is standard type (1 fasterner), the lower is slimmer type (2 fasterner but bit more heavy than standard)


and for the multi level setup, actually it is not that good for gravity <>vibration matter, better stick with 1 or 2 level the most.




i got also buy their suction cup with real silicone pad, unlike other cheap one or rubber pad made being sold in mr.diy, it can really hold up the gps without falling
