Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did notice that the angle of the TX-19 is 'slanted'. Are all rear-view mirror dashcams like that or just this model?

I'm considering Yi dashcam but wondering if I should get one with a rear-cam...

Oh yea, how much is shipping if you buy from Gearbest...do you know?
*
yi cam is coming up with a full black 'stealth' body color soon, finally they heard what consumer want - gold / grey not safe for all places whereby break-in stealing do happens

but this version may only get 1080p 30fps only, not early 1080p 60fps. price should be cheaper then.

Saw this new black XiaoYi dashcam in Taobao.
Promotion price around RMB218 (RM137) excluding shipping to Malaysia.

According to the spec,
This look like downgrade version of XiaoYi dashcam if compare to previous colour gold/grey.

Reason:
- it can record up to 1080p30 using H.264 encoding (compare previous up to with 2K (1296p 2304×1296) at 30fps or 1080p60 / 1080p30 )
- support up to 32GB microSD (previous up to 64GB)
*
malaysia mi dealers would buy a lot at this low price then sell good price

as long as brand + price correct, still selling good, especially malaysia here all wanna cheaper n cheaper now... quality already falled to 2nd place concern

not juz video/image quality, question is dare leaving those low quality battery inside cheap dashcam in your car all the time?

even yi dashcam also got battery getting 'fat' cases after long time exposure in hot weather, juz good battery design & made save it from explode and avoid a fire subsequently > burn dashboard > burn whole car...

ya something like that. u know me well.

so i can rotate as and when i need it.

any recommendation?
*
should use a 'hidden spy cam' for internal room recording, don use dashcam any more.

1 dashcam for front driving scene recording, 1 dashcam for rear scene recording.
1 or 2 spy cam inside cabin if u want- 1 spy cam record full view (can see all faces), 1 spy cam can tune to record driver windows side - especially useful if got mat rempit kacau you or 'uniform tuan' wanna some tea time fees, don put up phone on that critical moment

How about xiaomi dashcam? The higher price one, not the new cheap version.
Performance okay?  Compare to A119 and A118C?
Other than using battery, what weakness does it have? The battery will explode or bloat anot?
*
as long as stick to main purpose of using a car dashcam = just to record incident, not for movie production, then as long as clear is already serve its purpose.

frustrated with gearbest.

im sending back my car recorder Dome D201 for repairing under warranty. now they claim that my parcel had been lost, and compensate me part of my purchase amount.

WTF.

im no more trusted on gearbest as not genuine product. feel angry on this issue.
*
your parcel lost and gearbest compensate you?

parcel lost should go claim against courier company, how come recipient come to compensate?

or actually it was already arrived to their hand then later saying parcel lost in their warehouse...

if lost in their hand, they should hands u a new/replacement working unit, juz tell them u got a lot of US friends, if they play dirty u would let your US friend to exaggerate to blacklist them (fb, twister whatever to stop buying from them). US market much larger than malaysian for china gadgets.

Appreciate if someone can assist on my question for the length of sub cable that I need.

What is the length of the usb cable I need to get from cigarette lighter socket to the rear window on MPV ? (e.g. Alza, Grand Livana, Sienta, Exora, etc)?

Standard usb cable comes along with XiaoYi dashcam is 3.5M, is it I have to get at least 8M? Thank you
*
they have a reason why commonly bundle 3.5m cable

under pc environment, usb device using 5m cable can experience intermittent power loss

unless one is using great quality usb cable (not generic china made one)

huh, xiaomi fight sendiri xiaoyi cam? logic where?

but seems still not on par with 360 cam in terms of quality & pricing

360 even upgraded its first generation with ambarella A12 (same as 2nd gen) but maintain mini body size and that worthy pricing (but whenever convert to our current ringgit seems not that friendly to us already). however the 360 still no aim for international market users, still pure mandarin interface (correct me if i no update)

yi won in aspect of brand awareness and pricing, no doubt. taiwan brands have been hit kau kau

there is always market rules, manufacturer or distributor would stop providing stock whenever detect this

so u see some phone shop selling online never put real shop name, some never do cod avoid being caught on the scene, that's the reason

Thank you for the link. I was not able to search for a single Mi Jia video on YT. Then I see those Mi Jia videos from the link you provided.
The Yi appears to be bad. Not sure if it was made to appear lousier than Mi Jia.
My hand is itchy now.... new toy.
*
for online video review, i only believe 50/50 only

y, it so so easy to "manipulate" video quality by software before uploading

last time we seen malicious fight between cam supporters (manufacturer employed troops i guess) that (1) some adopt blurring/dirty windscreen to record, (2) some temper the video by software (3) some adjust the angle to achieve bad look plate number

and also got paid blogger, ambassador, referral commission, etc

here a link of china website, got several video clips, can click and see (while u see the Play button, click it, hosted by youku china video sharing site)

I foresee an increase in the interest of dash cam after all those high profile lawan arus cases. Unfortunately, Msia SME cannot compete with the likes of Xiaomi and Xiao YI.
*
yup, some new car model already equipped with factory pre-installed cam

china got those "public fund raising" mechanism to help monetary support good biz idea, thus so many new IT hardware makers can join the market with least self start up money, can boost their economy and talents no need just work for others for life time

here? still very tradisional, bankers money... self money... shark loan money...

then cost also higher than others...
