Toure's signing could help to persuade them. Even now, Kelly came out and state Toure's influence.

If he can keep performing well, he could well be another Gary McAllister....

Incorrect. He scored a goal for Greece after Mucha failed to control what was a routine backpass from Sktrel.

Can wan. Remember Rene Huguita's howler in World Cup 1990 against Cameroon? 'El Loco' decided to try to dribble the ball past Roger Milla who won the ball and slotted it into an empty net. Concentration is a key attribute top class keepers need.

Concentration is the reason many keepers with mid table sides don't make it at big clubs. It is easier to maintain a high level of concentration when you see action every few minutes but at big clubs, you sometimes only have be save to make the whole game. Think Scott Carson, Chris Kirkland, or our very own David James who excelled for Watford before us and Pompey after but looked like he greased his gloves wth butter when he played for us.

I recall Gary McAllister played for us until 36, no?

Alonso could well have 4-5 years left if BR can maintain his fitness well biggrin.gif

I think if alonso comes he will probably take lucas' position. That still leaves us needing an attacking mid in the mkhitaryan/lampard mould.I am really not sure if gerrard can be the box to box player we need.

WHAT? shocking.gif You forgot Coutinho and Alberto? And even Moses can play there. Erm...Aspas too. Why waste more money for no reason?

I know some of us will jump in and say "But Alberto is not a 1st team player". if you never give a chance to that Alberto lad, he will never be first team potentiall at all.

Plus, Who can replace Coutinho at this current form? And who will come to LFC in January just to sit on the bench?

Dont waste money la.

Gerrard lacks the pace he used to have. That Koke kid from A.Madrid seems nice though. Yamelenko also not bad brows.gif

If we are near to top of the table comes January, a big signing could well be a good way to boost our chance of finishing higher than top 4. Plus, it helps to convince the likes of Coutinho and Suarez that the club is moving forward. We can always loan Alberto out for experience like we did with suso.

Once we sign someone "big", coutinho would probably swap to the left , leaving Moses to bench.

I just read a survey on Liverpool Echo. One of us actually stated that he worries the left flank with both players all on loan from other clubs. So, these might be the area we can aim for big players. Digne was linked once... and in recent, Menez, Alonso and Koke are linked for the center.

well, if someone jumps off a 10-storey building and survives...doesnt mean you could or should tongue.gif
anyway, the point i was making is that there is no resale value in alonso whatsoever at his current age.
and if he does come, most likely he will just retire with LFC...with gerrard in his arms...k.i.s.s.i.n.g.

With Lucas, Gerrard and Alonso those are 3 very off paced midfielders. If BR persists with 352 and going with 2 CMs and a CAM triangle, then Alonso would be playing in Gerrard's position as the other CM has to do more of the heavy lifting. Can't see us play both Gerrard and Alonso in midfield as they lack pace and tenacity, unless we play more like Juventus with 3 CMs. But Coutinho should be playing as the no 10 when he gets back, he is potentially a genuine playmaker and needs to play more centrally.

I can't wait to see who we sign. Hopefully a solid midfielder.

I even forgot Suso. Gosh, we have too many young fellas with good potential for that role. Dont waste money. Save for rainy days.

If next season, Suarez goes, we have reserved kitty + Suarez's fee to fund a world class versatile striker.

Plus, loaning out Alberto seems like a waste, just like how we loan out Suso.

Or maybe in January, some key players got terrible injuries, such as Mignolet got crocked (touch wood), we may need to spend the reserve kitty or we count on Brad Jones only.

Save the money, Bro. The club need healthy financial status to compete for a long term. It is not just this season alone we should throw all the eggs into a basket.

Plus, remember this, Moses and Cissokho are on loan basis only. If they did really well and they wanna stay, we have to pay for their transfer fees too.

We urgently need an accountant in this thread. LOL biggrin.gif

loaning Suso is not a waste. we give him time play which we cant guarantee in Liverpool. young player need to play more to gain confidence.

my opinion.. we also need to loan out sterling and wisdom. but we need to hold Alberto until January for back up.

my concern is Right Back and CM. who gonna back up Johnson? seriously I doubt Kelly fitness and Wisdom consistency.
