agreed..we just have to wait for local shops, or telco to give a good deal. i think i has read somewhere, the US Nokia cost base price is something like close to 600usd, the rest of the price depend on the seller. well...usually i look around in lowyat garage sale, they are many respectable seller with good value price.

USD700, not 600. Negri Electronics sells them USD697 now. Unlocked AT&T model, I'm using now with Maxis.

I wish there is a quicker way of switching between Nokia Pro Cam and Nokia Smart Cam. Pro Cam has all the features of a decent point-and-shoot, with manual controls and all, but to access features like removing unwanted object in shot, action shots with images superimposition in one shot, object highlighting, those are only available in the Smart Cam app. And the fastest way to do so is a two step button taps that leads to considerable time to launch the Smart Cam from within Pro Cam. It would be better if Smart and Pro Cam are integrated together instead of having to switch over between them. Sigh....

Nokia is currently rebuilding its camera applications for its Windows Phone handsets. Sources familiar with Nokia's Windows Phone apps have revealed to The Verge that the new app will simply be named "Nokia Camera." We're told that the company will combine its Smart Cam and Pro Cam features into the new app, and that there will be a new UI to choose Pro or Smart features within the app.

Not all existing Lumia handsets will be able to access the Pro features, and we're told only the Lumia 920, 925, 928, 1020, and 1520 will have full support. Twitter account Nawzil first revealed the new Nokia Camera app, noting Nokia will discontinue its existing Smart Cam and Pro Cam apps soon. Nokia is currently beta testing the app internally, and we're told it's planning to bundle the new app with its 6-inch Lumia 1520 handset that will be announced next month.

Actually they can price it much lower. As I said previously, there maybe a team which do price survey and they may also check how much people are willing to pay... so if they see many people mentioned they willing to pay higher, so it may affect their final decision on what to price the product........

Just share some insights here.

Moreover, just imagine how many people who actually initially wanted to get the Lumia 1020, but after saw the price, they bought the Note 3 which just released.... Nokia just lost some of their customers again, how they want people to switch to Nokia or Microsoft who wants their Customer to switch to Windows Phone. Once the customer change new phone, how long for them to change again, and if they gets comfortable with the platform, it's another obstacle for MS to draw these customers.

For that price tag I would go for note 3. Maybe nokia using their old strategy like always test water.

If note 3+ carl zeiss optics of 41mp I dont mind to pay for 2.5k.

Nokia highest price trademark was nokia n96 at 2.9k
