Just got my Yellow Camera Grip, so I'm selling off the black one for any interested party here. Of course, packaging is gone for that black Grip, but it'll come with the strap that comes with the packaging.

USD737 from Negri Electronics 3 weeks back from LA. Price was shortly revised it to USD697, and the USD40 was refunded back to my CC from them. The black camera grip was from AT&T store in Inglewood.

I wish there is a quicker way of switching between Nokia Pro Cam and Nokia Smart Cam. Pro Cam has all the features of a decent point-and-shoot, with manual controls and all, but to access features like removing unwanted object in shot, action shots with images superimposition in one shot, object highlighting, those are only available in the Smart Cam app. And the fastest way to do so is a two step button taps that leads to considerable time to launch the Smart Cam from within Pro Cam. It would be better if Smart and Pro Cam are integrated together instead of having to switch over between them. Sigh.... sad.gif

They will be merging it, right? So it's slated sometime in the future, but not too soon.

Also, Glance feature does not work when you're using the camera grip. The extended battery on that makes the "Peek" feature unavailable, and turns it into always on instead. The camera grip with battery also means you CANT turn off your 1020, it will act just like when you are connecting the 1020 to a power source. Turn it off and watch it turn back on again. This was a holdover "glitch" brought back from the days of 920.

You mean it's a bug right now? I thought there's a button where you can press and turn off the battery from charging it up?

Still indecisive whether to buy from storekini or not >.<
Someone said today another road show or sales?

If the charger is connected, the phone will not turn off even when asked to shutdown. The Camera grip has built in battery in it, so when connected, it acts as it the charger is connected and is charging the phone, therefore will not turn off. A minor gripe, but still a gripe nonetheless.

agreed..we just have to wait for local shops, or telco to give a good deal. i think i has read somewhere, the US Nokia cost base price is something like close to 600usd, the rest of the price depend on the seller. well...usually i look around in lowyat garage sale, they are many respectable seller with good value price.

USD700, not 600. Negri Electronics sells them USD697 now. Unlocked AT&T model, I'm using now with Maxis.

Irregardless though, general public wont be able to get it at USD600 price at launch. Good info on what's AT&T profit margin is.

QUOTE
Nokia is currently rebuilding its camera applications for its Windows Phone handsets. Sources familiar with Nokia's Windows Phone apps have revealed to The Verge that the new app will simply be named "Nokia Camera." We're told that the company will combine its Smart Cam and Pro Cam features into the new app, and that there will be a new UI to choose Pro or Smart features within the app.

Not all existing Lumia handsets will be able to access the Pro features, and we're told only the Lumia 920, 925, 928, 1020, and 1520 will have full support. Twitter account Nawzil first revealed the new Nokia Camera app, noting Nokia will discontinue its existing Smart Cam and Pro Cam apps soon. Nokia is currently beta testing the app internally, and we're told it's planning to bundle the new app with its 6-inch Lumia 1520 handset that will be announced next month.
Thank you Nokia! My gripe answered and rectified now. rclxms.gif

Dealt with them for my HTC Radar previously too.. thanks for the heads up String. I don't mind about the camera grip right now anyway.

String, is the camera button on the 1020 the usual 2 stage one? ie. press half to focus, full to shoot? Or is that only available with the grip?

Both have.

Just came back from Saturn Zeil Frankfurt. Bought a couple of el cheapo mini tripods, namely the Cullman with smooth ball head and Manfrotto Pixi. The Cullman is ideal for video recording with smooth sweeps while the Manfrotto Pixi works as a tabletop tripod and when closed, a nice hand grip pole for the Z1+QX100.

This was taken in the dark and bright segments of the ride, wholly recorded with my Lumia 1020. Unless I move to my RX100M2, this video is more than satisfactory to me. Including the dark segments.

Maybe I'm not picky.
