I have a question tongue.gif
It's just a preview not the real final version right.
So when the final version is out will we be able to download it without problem?
No flash, no loss of data right?

This is the final release version of GDR3 (not preview) for carriers and developers for testing and eventually releases it to the official channel together with Bittersweet shimmer in coming months.

This update only includes the OS update, not device specific firmware, so u will keep your current firmware and will not lose it. You will also continue to receive the official update (and firmware) when they become publicly available, so there is no missing out of features, nor will you ever be behind.

If you are lazy like me, I just update straightaway without backup (STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED AS I HAVE NO CRITICAL STUFFS ON PHONE), and everything is still intact after the update

Will this void our warranty ?

Being a development or studio account, any advantage or disadvantage?

yes ..it will void your warranty (but i think it's recoverable)

u can receive faster update from microsoft side ..but the thing is ..initial version of ROM usually got problem ..if u are using your phone as daily use phone ..then better dont go for it

The thing is this GDR3 is release by Microsoft itself without going through phone manufacturer (HTC, Samsung, Nokia) to do hardware testing on their phone to make sure it works perfectly before released it.

so installing the GDR3 now will had the risk of warranty void if GDR3 got problem on your phone.

Voided but with benefits until a real OTA is out.
It doesn't really have a lot of sweet features for me though.
Rotation lock, close app with X and Custom tones for text or IM, voicemail, email and reminders.

Driving mode not that useful for me because i'm without a bluetooth device.

Whatsapp unable to change the notification sound and always stucked at "Alert 5" that tone.

I need rotation lock also, haha ...

Btw, why cant i search the "Preview for developers" app in the store?
Same with Nokia Background Glance Beta.

Changed to both US & UK region also no help.

haha..oh ok..

btw, if you read the post, he mentioned

"A more interesting change comes in the Cellular page of the settings, which offers you the ability to limit the background data (live tile updates, toast notifications, etc.) when you're on a mobile network or when you're roaming. "

where and what are those? can't find that settings
