QUOTE(abot84 @ Oct 27 2013, 10:13 PM) Dammit..my car had to be towed today. Can't start my engine, before that the handbrake and ESC indicators were on while driving. Probably some electronics failure. My last visit to the SC didn't solve the problem apparently. Even the tow truck driver and some bystanders were surprised because the car is still new and it was his first Suprima. how many mileage already clocked? |

My engine didn't stop suddenly, just the warning indicators started showing while I was driving. Can't restart the engine after I stopped it. Now the car is still in SC, they're checking the wiring. Initially they told me they need a day to fix it and asked me to come tomorrow. I said okay only if I get a relief car since I need to use the car for work. I even called We Care to get a relief car. And since they can't provide a relief car for me now they are rushing the work. Damn these people need to be kicked in the butts to rush things. Haih.btw abot, make some huhahuha to the hq showing how concerned you are with the state of ur car.. early adopters like us, i heard, will certainly get the attention of their top bosses QUOTE(yaz_inseven @ Oct 28 2013, 09:28 AM) Clocked 7.6k already.QUOTE(mrhaz @ Oct 28 2013, 09:32 AM) Thanks for the solidarity bro. Haha. They told me it's one of the switches (same as last time I think) after they checked with their software. Now they are testing the car and checking the wiring for other issues.Oh and one more thing, I asked the SC (Service Branch in Puchong) to check the report from my last SC visit (Service Dealer in JB) and apparently in the system the dealer SA reported that they replaced my battery but as I know they only replace a switch. I suspect they're over claiming the warranty from Proton. I don't really care about that, but this doesn't reflect the true history of my car's problem and maybe others as well. So there's a good chance that many problems encountered by users being sent to branch/dealer for warranty claims are not accurately reported to Proton. I enquired directly to Kristof of Punch Powertrain about the improvements on the VT3. My questions were forwarded to his colleague Fikeri Yusof. the following is the email exchange
QUOTE Hi Kristof, I understand the new Suprima S is using VT3+, an upgraded version of the VT3 used in Preve and Exora. Can you elaborate on the improvements implemented on the new VT3+ compared to the older VT3? Thanks! Regards, **** There was a couple of intermediate email exchange but due to irrelevance I will omit them here. The next relevant email is below QUOTE Hey ****, your answer will be in tomorrow. We dont have any secrets and the more malaysia knows what we are doing, especially improving, the better! So no issue in sharing. Have you testdriven the suprima, offcoarse i did, huge difference with preve! Car build up quality is way better, a lot of lessons learned taken into account. Allthough i have to say that the vt3+ Is also adopted in the newly produced preve and preve will take over a lot of suprima quality as well. Regards Kristof QUOTE Dear ****, VT3+ found in Suprima S is base on VT3 found in Preve CFE and Exora CFE,the changes that we made is redesign the gear geometry of secondary gear side to reduce whining sound of it.Number of teeth also different but final ratio of each transmission is still the same.TCU calibration also different due to number of teeth and new Cal on Suprima S is more responsive compared to Preve. But on the same time,Proton also did lots of upgrade to absorb the whining sound.Like new design trans mounting, additional brace inside front fender, thicker padding at firewall and few more which I not remember. Hope the answer is fine for you.Thanks. Regards, Fikeri Yusof So as you guys can see the improvements is not only software, but also the mechanical parts. Kudos to the team for answering my questions so thoroughly when other carmakers will probably shrug me off. Goes to show Proton is not ready to rest on it's achievement with the CFE+CVT powertrain design. This post has been edited by dares: Oct 28 2013, 08:32 PM |

My car is fine already, they replaced the push start button. According to them the switch was shorted. Maybe it caused a false alarm signal to the system and prevented me from cranking the engine *MAYBE*. If only I can get my hands on the car's wiring diagram. i tot the SC will come out with an official resit that states what has been done to ur car/warranty claim. the items should be online throughout all SC, no? Yup, the items are actually online throughout all SC. The SA showed me the dealer's item from their PC. I didn't bother to get the receipt last time since it's a warranty claim, they just told me verbally what they did/replace. Got it this time though. |
