Like OCBC also has this deal if you invest in one of their investments then you can put funds maximum to the amount you invested into FD for 3 months at 4% or something. Something like that.

Yes, for FD placement, I normally use personal check, banker's check, IBG. Never cash.

This was what I posted early this month. Then it was the 'latest promo rate'.
3-months at 3.4% (95% in FD, 5% in CASA or can try negotiate to put one lump sum of 10k in CASA if amount of large)
12-months at 3.55%
13-months at 3.65%

Hi all, plan to put in 1 year FD in BR. as I read online, BR's investment is not covered by PIDM. PIDM coverage important or not actually, and does it matter whether or not the bank's FD is PIDM insured?

It is always better to have PIDM protection for your FD; just like to have ESC/ESP safety feature in your car:

But if you do not mind without ESP/ESC (PIDM), then go for Proton Saga SV (BR) that can save your money.

Proton Saga SV has no ESP/ESC but luckily it has at least 2 front air bags protection (Ministry of Finance guarantee).

In my personal opinion, to put 1 year FD in BR should be OK. One year time will pass fast.

My branch is from mainland, I was thinking since it is held in equatorial penang, may be can meet some of you guys from penang island there....... but looks like it is branch related only..........so we will always only meet guys from same branch only.....

BMW (UOB) and Merce (OCBC) for sure have ESP (PIDM) la....except for their very old models.

I am a risk taker, I can take this 5 years risk, no risk how to gain..?
And this type of FD risk is not as risky as share market.

Yesterday just IBG earned interest from iRakyat to RHB, this afternoon checked with RHB, received fund
from iRakyat to RHB successfully.

Received on missed call 03-21179000 from Bank Rakyat this morning, I guess Bank Rakyat wanted to verify my
IBG transaction.

Also received one SMS from Bank Rakyat during this late afternoon, I think it was regarding to my iRakyat IBG transaction:
"Satu transaksi akaun anda di IRakyat telah dilakukan pd 25/11/2013. Hubungi Bank Rakyat 13008812265 sekiranya
anda tidak melakukan transaksi tersebut."
