There are some work on master switch, I don't know the reliability of the master switch surge protector. So far the best serving me is Cal-Lab is an isolater.

And judging from that many socket, you don't plan to switch off [not standby] the devices?

The master switch is hidden in side the compartment just beside the DB box. See... The little switch there... tongue.gif

QUOTE(mrgoodgood @ Mar 25 2014, 10:49 AM)
How much is your built-in wardrobe per foot run? I have asked for some quotation and either it is a lot more expensive (because I'm not planning to have doors, the carcass needs to be laminated), or the depth of the carcass is very shallow (about a foot). I think they are trying to cut costs here.

My 400cm (>13ft) IKEA configuration came up to RM3330 including all interior fittings that I need. Even if I paid for delivery and installation, it is still a lot cheaper than a custom-made wardrobe. Of course, I'm being cheapo here...  blush.gif
I think a 2.5" pipe will allow all connectors (except for the 13A plug) to pass through. The yellow string is used to pull/guide the cables through the pipe? I have that for my UNIFI socket too. Great design!
*
Those shallow depth wardrobe that you mentioned is perhaps like one of the ikea's design, suited those small room space. The clothes are to be hung in another way round facing out. Not so practical in my opinion as it's storage space is very minimal.

Mine is about rm470 per foot run, excluded the extra charge of rm600 that i requested them to powder-coat matt black for the aluminum frame.
It comes with good depth, up to the ceiling height (9.5'), standard white carcass inside and with 2 panels of big sliding doors.
However you are right that they gonna charge more if you want a laminated carcass instead of their standard white color. For the ikea's wardrobe, you may perhaps get the carpenter (the carpenter for kitchen cab could help with some charges) to add in the 2x end panel up to the ceiling and...ta-dah...there u go, a full height cab that you can utilise the space above the cab as storage too. Things can be kept like luggage bags, spare pillows, quilt, etc.

As for the embedded pipe, we are not slotting in the 13A plug of course. Yup, the yellow string is a modified cable-puller. wink.gif

Therefore a one or two power socket will solve the problem. 6 sockets not really practical smile.gif

Mine will have 3 sockets, controlled by a single switch that is located alongside the other wall switches. I plan to use extension cords and hide it in my TV console.

The Cal-lab thingy is interesting. Based on my previous experience, the electrical shocks that kill my appliances usually come through telephone lines. After I've upgraded to Unifi the problem never happen. Maybe I'm just being lucky. A little extra protection is nice if it doesn't cost much. I asked my electrician how to regulate the power supply, he say can install a device before DB box, but it costs more than 2k. I said forget about it. Better get multiple Cal-lab units.

If (just maybe) im lazy to off one master switch, i won't be taking the effort to off that one or two sockets too... tongue.gif
Perhaps i want to assign this important job before bed (including checking/ensure the windows and doors are locked) to my dear husband... Kakaka~

In addition, most probably will leave it off for some sockets eg disc player and media player. I can still on them as my tv console is not that high and the sockets are still easily reachable. smile.gif

Good thing about LYN, i learned more things today. Our lyn members here are very thoughtful and helpful.
Cheers~ happy.gif

In Forum, is good to challenge, question, and ask. If not we will not know. But don't take it personal when feel challenge / question.

Hmm, actually I always challenge and ask in any meeting.. Thats the job of PM

You are definitely good in analytical thinking. thumbup.gif  I actually did not think of its advantage on the re-painting! Thanks for pointing that out....for me, it's just some idea came to my mind so that I can avoid the tv panel, so I straight away asked it to be done... tongue.gif
Hmm...can i put the surged protector to the master switch then?
I don't have a TV with me right now, but i think it's something like pics below.
It's a stupid idea from me, a lady who just want results to be realised per the image in her head...
You guys pls improvise it if you like the fundamental idea.
(It's same goes to my polka dots planning that I just simply plot it out using a simple edditing apps in my ipad, I know it looks stupid to some but I just want things done with my least effort).
Wow!! Intresting~ you may want to share the result with us forumers once it's done.  rclxms.gif
Everyone has got their ideal way of living. There isn't right or wrong. In the forum, we just share what we like and did, propose what we think and remind if we see any part overlooked... icon_rolleyes.gif

When we have a stupid idea comes out, the person that doing renovation should know is it practical or not.
Repainting a house is something we need to do every now and then, maybe every 10 years or so. Especially you buy a new house as the walls may have hairline cracks that will only surface out after 2-3 years.
As for wardrobe, buying off the shelf seems to be better than custom make(if talking about the price), but it will fail faster most of the time and usually are MIC.
