Firstly, you have to understand the root cause. When aircond kick, there are few things could happen:

1. Compressor hit and load to the accessory belt, and then affecting the spinning of alternator and engine power
2. Electric consumption increased (especially with fan spinning together)

Then voltage drop happens that will cause lower voltage supplied to light and they dim.

How to help the situation:

1. Battery condition: Battery will help to compensate the dropping by "sacrifice" himself in supplying of current from itself. If you never fill battery water or battery in bad condition, then battery will be serve as additional load because it will eat more current instead of supplying current. Guys note that most so called maintenance free battery are not exactly maintenance "free" but they are using the same water as wet battery does. You can fill water in it to ensure it works in tip top condition. (But im sure proton's ramcar battery is water fillable)

2. Cabling (ground cable). For battery current to come out fast enough, ground cable play an important to carry the current out to compensate. Ground cable also carry current from VS and alternator to everywhere.

3. VS can also compensate the dropping by a fraction despite this is not the main function of a VS. Because VS is more for filtering high frequency ripple. VS is connected to battery and ground cable is playing big role to carrry vs' current as well.

So, it's not just as simple as abc when we dealing with light dim issue and will need some troubleshooting work. Well most cases encountered is due to ground cable harness issue.

Sometimes not even a 1st class wormbook eletronic engineer can know the answer, not to say you dun have electronic background at all.

Our car alternator is current limited device, means it generate finite amount of current (unlike our power socket at home, almost infinite as long as the wire can support). Big cap (or high capacity capacitor bank) will draw more current when it start to charge, and it charge slower due RC constant.

Why by putting high capacity VS can help to solve the light dim when compressor kickin??
Becos VS connected directly to the battery, hence it almost act as voltage buffer for headlamp. But be aware, when the compressor kickin, the voltage will dip and VS start to discharge to stabilize the voltage. The fact is after it discharge, it need to charge back as well, so where is the current come from? Alternator?? But if the charge current is reach its output capability due to too large capacitance? How??

It will draw current from other devices, such as your audio system (Because got cap inside too) and other circuit too, or it will overload your alternator. Outcome is more sluggish performance.

So, not higher capacity = better performance, there are still alot of background info that you never know that might bring other side effect. I'm not saying that your VS capacitance is too big, just that your mindset of bigger = better is totally wrong. Remember one of the buyer from your thread who said the car become sluggish after using your VS??

Electronic modification/addon need DRBFM (Design Review Based on Failure Mode), which you need to fully understand the basic of your compnent addon and list down all the side effect, clearly you don't do that because you not even know the basic of it.

I saw ur VS thread alot complaining about u selling Taobao VS so ex etc... But no offence to anyone, we all are in the open market, we do a something gain little profit, isn't this how the world works? I saw they flame ur thread, is like going to the clothes shop and tell the shop owner i can buy this cheaper from Taobao directly?

no lah. l diyed mine 8 years ago using 20 x 10,000uf plus some smaller ones 0.1,4.7,100,220,4700 etc.
no led light, no fuse.
yearly maintenance - check for bulge & leak on caps

8 years of VS experiences?

Until now I am so curious that the people complain, until now din get warranty, and complain without any point...

Haven't test drive others, CXfai is next on the list. Maybe I'm not being fair because I have no other SUVs/Xovers to compare to, but for RM132k I have certain expectations. There's a reason why I say the current Civic is sh!t

The XV boot is ridiculously small. After the test drive I went to the Mazda showroom a few shops away. There was no CXfai so I go molest the current gen Mazda3 hatchback. Open the boot and see, the XV dunno lose how many streets dy But for the rear seats the XV is more spacious la.
