This thread is opened for discussion on:

1. Football replica or player issue jerseys/shorts/socks
2. Football training jerseys/shorts/socks
3. Namesets (NNs) and patches

The discussions here are generic but related to the items above, such as where to find a certain jersey or nameset, asking questions on patches etc...

Anyone can share their latest jerseys they bought since this is a thread about jerseys.

RULES AND REGULATIONS (R&R)

Make sure that none of the things below are mentioned:

1. Talking/discussing about fake jerseys/patches/gear
2. Flaming and causing stir/arguing with another LYN member
3. Any racial abuse or football clubs sentiment
4. Anything that is against the general rules of this forum.

If anyone breaks the rule, they will be reported to the moderators and admins.

As discussed with the previous thread starter, I decided to volunteer and open the thread again (thanks MobyDick).

For newbies, any questions please refer to page 1 first. I will post some guides in the first page for references because sometimes the same question is asked over and over again..

EXTRA ATTENTION TO MEMBERS OF LYN FORUM AND REGULARS TO THIS THREAD!

Most of the regulars know who are the previous troublemakers who like to cause stir in this thread. They will either:

1. Insult people's collection
2. Brag about themselves
3. Insult other people's knowledge on jerseys
4. Flame other people
5. All the above.

IF YOU FIND THEM POSTING IN THIS THREAD ... please report to the moderators and IGNORE THEM ... because their postings are worthless and most of them are more into seeking attention only..

If you post in the forum, then you agree with the rules stated above.

Thank you!

WHERE TO BUY NAME/NUMBER SET (NNs) AND PATCHES

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE LETTERS/NUMBERS & PATCHES FOR THE TOP 4 EPL TEAMS

Letters/Numbers are in black or white colours. Navy & Red NNs depend on stock availability and are ordered and sold as sets (not individually like black and white).
Locally each EPL letter costs RM6 per letter and RM35 per number. So if you want to buy ROONEY 10, it will cost:

(6 letters X RM6) + (2 numbers X RM35) = RM36 + RM70 = RM106

A pair of EPL patches (normal or champions patches) costs RM49 per pair (2 pieces for both sleeves).
You can purchase the EPL NNs and Patches (normal and champions) at:

1. Local Stores: Al-Ikhsan, Real One and Q-Line

RECOMMENDED FOREIGN ONLINE SPORTS SHOPS FOR PURCHASING AUTHENTIC JERSEYS/NNs/BADGES

Here is the list of names/address/contact information of local sports shops that have a previous and currently proven record of selling authentic items (jerseys, namesets and badges). As you all know, one of the rules and principles of all JCs (Jersey Collectors) are to say no to fake jerseys, NNs and badges.

We had a case with one of our previously recommended and endorsed shop somewhere in KL who we previously trusted and recommended to our friends and other fellow JCs. But in early 2008, 2 of their employees broke our trust and started to sell fake namesets and badges. Our mistake was not to spread this news because we though it was a one off case and we had good faith on that shop. But sadly it became worst because many people fell victims to these 2 unethical sellers who preyed on naive and innocent buyers who wanted to buy original items and paid the items with prices that matches authentic items. Is it unethical but at the end they got away with it because we didn't have any proof against them. It is funny to see how they pretend they didn't know about it and were plain cowards for not admitting it or still claiming that it's authentic. And at the end, the tauke himself said to one of our mates in the JC group to trust him more than us. That really upset us because we were wasting time giving them chance to sort out things, trusting and endorsing them, and at the end.. after trying to gain back our trust and believe on them.. we were scolded back as if we were the one starting the fuss. Takkan pokok bergoyang kalau tiada angin bertiup.. right?

So what we can do now is.. for the sake and safety of other JCs, newbies and friends out there is to list down the local and foreign sports shops that are guaranteed to sell authentic items and are personally endorsed by us. We might not have 10 years experience of selling items (quoted by someone who claims that players actually wear jersey with PU typed NNs during matches because they are light.. WTF..?) but we know our stuff. And I have black and white proof to back that up.

Anyway if you want to visit the recommended shops that we endorse, here they are:

Hi. Yes, the shirt is 100% authentic and not a fake repro.

Quite surprised that you managed to get that price. To me that is a bargain.

hi faiz.

Just to let everyone know there is a sports goods sale in pearl hotel, old klang road.

I saw quite a few adidas, puma & nike jerseys on sale, some old season, some current season (MU with the black small collars going for RM199 i think). There were also shorts, boots, etc etc.

Not sure if they were ori or fakes but they looked real enough to me.

I've heard contradicting statements about replica vs plaver version jersey. Which one is more reliable?

Anyone here has made recent purchase from Kitbag.com? Do they deduct the VAT for any item shipped to outside of Europe (eg; Malaysia)? Because last time when i made my last purchase from Kitbag (in 2011), it shows the amount you need to pay without VAT when you add items in your checkout list but now after they revamp the site it doesn't? Can someone please enlighten me regarding this matter?

Thank you,

Replica version jerseys are more reliable in terms of lifespan. They should last longer.

If you are from outside of EU (europe) then the VAT tax will be deducted and not included in your total purchase cost in kitbag.com and also in other UK websites.

Just want to share with you guys something..

Beware of the SportingID PS-PRO Nameset's Glue

Starting in the new 2013-2014 season, all EPL teams will no longer be using SENSCILIA or LEXTRA typed namesets but they will be using something new from SportingID known as PS-PRO Namesets. For the normal EPL patches, they will also cease from using SENSCILIA/LEXTRA but will be using PRO-S patches (similar material to the PS-PRO namesets).

"The new lighter PS-Pro ink lettering and numbering is the latest technology from official Premier League player identity partner Sporting iD. The major modification will be the reduction in weight and the increase in comfort for players. In today's game, speed and quickness are what makes players like Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott stand out. Lighter jerseys on their backs will no doubt contribute to their game changing pace.

The PS-Pro ink process also provides a more high definition print with brighter whiteness than traditional flock, as well as enhanced durability on modern kit fabrics. While the actual Premier League font will remain the same, the new lettering application will provide a clean and modern look.

In addition to the lettering & numbering, the Premier League patches will also be updated. Instead of fully embroidered patches, they will now be re-created in Sporting iD's lightweight Pro-S badge process."

Yeah yeah.. whatever. What I can say is, the material is similar to PU (thin plastic) but is slightly thicker. But one thing that most people should be extra careful is the glue material used. Previously in SENSCILIA/LEXTRA namesets/patches, they use the crystal or sand like glue material which is better and stronger in terms of glue bonding. When you heat press them, the crystal or sand like glue will melt and bond better. But for the PS-PRO namesets and PRO-S patches, the glue is different. What happens here is that the nameset might get peeled off easily as shown in some photos here. Even a match worn player shirt shows one of the letters can peel off easily during the actual match.. wow.

Nevertheless.. I think we need to ensure extra glue bonding is performed on the PS-PRO namesets by doing what I normally do.. Flip the jersey inside out (terbalikkan jersi) and then press firmly on the area where the namesets were printed using your trusted domestic iron (seterika) for few seconds. Hope this helps to ensure the glue bonding on the PS-PRO namesets are solid later on. I have not yet purchased any PS-PRO namesets yet.. so I cannot really guarantee it will work. Will try out later when I have one.

Some photos to share:

Yes, most likely. Although the excuse given was to make the material 'lighter' to reduce weight.. Which I believe is bollocks..

For players, I think it is understandable. For fans, I do prefer previous Lextra/Senscilia. More durable altho it is known issue to become yellowish after few years
